The room was filled with the soft afterglow of laughter and love as Billie and Y/N sat side by side on the couch, a light blanket draped over them. The remnants of their earlier movie night lingered, and Y/N felt a warmth spread through her chest as she leaned into Billie, their shoulders brushing against each other.

“Did you see how cheesy that last scene was?” Billie chuckled, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “I thought I was going to die of cringe.”

Y/N giggled, feeling comfortable and safe next to Billie. “It was so bad it was good. Classic rom-com vibes.”

Billie smiled and leaned closer, resting her head against Y/N’s shoulder. “I like this,” she murmured softly, her breath warm against Y/N’s skin.

Before Y/N could respond, Finneas’s phone buzzed loudly from the coffee table, breaking the moment. He picked it up, glancing at the screen. “I’ll just be a minute,” he said, standing up. “It’s a work call. Don’t burn the house down while I’m gone!”

Y/N and Billie exchanged amused glances as Finneas stepped into the hallway, his voice fading as he answered the call. As soon as he was out of sight, Y/N felt a shift in the air, a sudden awareness of how close she and Billie were. Her heart raced, and she couldn’t help but feel a slight flutter of anxiety.

Billie must have sensed the change in Y/N’s body language because she paused and looked up at her. “Hey, you okay?” she asked gently, her brow furrowing with concern.

Y/N swallowed hard, trying to find the words. “I… I’m good. Just… a bit nervous, I guess.”

“About what?” Billie tilted her head, her curiosity evident.

Y/N felt heat rising in her cheeks. “Just… being close to you. It feels nice, but I’m also scared.”

Billie’s expression softened. “You don’t have to be scared, Y/N. I promise, I won’t do anything you’re not comfortable with.”

Feeling a mix of relief and longing, Y/N nodded. “I know, it’s just… everything’s so new for me.”

Billie smiled warmly and shifted closer, wrapping an arm around Y/N’s shoulders. “Then let’s just cuddle. No pressure, okay?”

Y/N nodded again, and as Billie pulled her closer, she felt the tension in her body melt away. They sank into the moment, wrapped in each other’s warmth, their breaths syncing as they relaxed together.

After a few moments, Finneas returned, his voice breaking the comfortable silence. “Hey, do you two want to play some video games?” he asked, plopping down on the couch beside them.

“Sure! What do you have in mind?” Billie replied, her eyes lighting up.

Finneas grinned. “I’ve got that new co-op game we can all play together. It’s supposed to be hilarious.”

“Sounds perfect!” Y/N exclaimed, her earlier nerves dissipating as they shifted gears. Billie’s comforting presence beside her made it easy to forget the lingering tension.

As they set up the game, Y/N felt an exhilarating mix of excitement and comfort. They dove into the game, their laughter filling the room as they navigated challenges and celebrated each small victory. Billie and Y/N shared playful banter, their chemistry becoming even more apparent as they worked together to succeed.

At one point, as they fought off digital monsters, Y/N couldn’t help but lean into Billie’s side, their legs tangled together beneath the blanket. The warmth radiating from Billie’s body sent shivers of comfort through Y/N, and she found herself relaxing completely.

“Watch out! There’s one behind you!” Y/N yelled, pointing at the screen, and they both erupted into laughter as Billie dramatically exaggerated her movements, making it all the more entertaining.

“Okay, okay! I’m on it!” Billie replied, trying to keep her focus but failing miserably as they both giggled uncontrollably.

Finneas couldn’t help but smile at them, noticing how easy and natural their interactions were. “You two are ridiculous,” he said, shaking his head with a laugh. “But it’s great to see you having fun.”

As they continued playing, Y/N felt a flutter in her chest every time Billie would lean closer, brushing their arms or occasionally resting her head on Y/N’s shoulder. It was a mix of comfort and excitement, and it made Y/N feel lightheaded.

After a particularly intense round, they finally paused, breathless from laughter and adrenaline. Billie turned to Y/N, her eyes sparkling. “You’re really good at this, you know that?”

Y/N’s cheeks flushed at the compliment. “Thanks! I think it’s more fun when you’re here.”

Billie smiled, and for a moment, they simply stared at each other, the air thick with unspoken feelings. Y/N could feel the warmth radiating between them, and the urge to close the gap, to lean in and kiss Billie, was almost overwhelming.

“Okay, but we need to take a break. I can’t focus when you two keep giving each other those looks,” Finneas teased, breaking the tension with a playful grin. “How about some snacks?”

Y/N and Billie both laughed, the moment dissipating slightly. “Good idea!” Billie said, standing up and stretching. “I’m starving.”

As Finneas headed to the kitchen, Billie turned to Y/N, her expression turning a bit more serious. “Hey, about earlier… I just want you to know that you can be yourself around me. No need to hide anything.”

Y/N swallowed hard, the sincerity in Billie’s voice tugging at her heart. “I really appreciate that, Billie. It’s just hard sometimes.”

Billie stepped closer, her gaze softening. “You’re allowed to take your time, Y/N. I’m here for you, no matter what.”

Feeling a wave of gratitude wash over her, Y/N nodded. “Thank you. That means a lot.”

Before they could delve deeper into the conversation, Finneas returned, arms loaded with snacks. “Snacks are here! Now we can power through this game.”

The rest of the night unfolded in a delightful mix of laughter, teasing, and soft moments shared between Billie and Y/N. They continued to play games, the atmosphere relaxed and filled with warmth. Y/N felt a sense of belonging and joy she hadn’t experienced in a long time.

As the night wore on, Y/N stole glances at Billie, her heart racing every time their eyes met. There was something undeniably special between them, and even though Y/N struggled to fully articulate her feelings, she knew one thing for sure: she was falling for Billie, and she couldn’t wait to see where it would lead them.
