The excitement in the room was palpable as the three of them settled in for another night together, the buzz of their latest social media escapade still electrifying the air. Y/N, Billie, and Finneas lounged on the couch, the television playing softly in the background while they gathered around Y/N’s phone, scrolling through the comments on Finneas’s Instagram post.

“Look at this one!” Billie said, giggling as she pointed at a comment that read, “Did Y/n just steal Billie from me?!”

Y/N laughed along, feeling a warmth spread through her. This was fun, and the light-hearted banter was exactly what she needed. But as they continued to scroll, Y/N noticed a shift in the comments.

“What’s this?” she muttered under her breath, her smile faltering slightly as she read a particularly harsh comment that said, “She doesn’t deserve Billie. Just another clout-chaser.”

The words hit her like a cold splash of water, and she tried to shake it off, reminding herself that social media was a breeding ground for negativity. But even so, it gnawed at her insides.

“Hey, look at this one,” Finneas chimed in, unaware of her sudden shift in mood. “This person thinks we’re just doing this for publicity.”

Y/N forced a chuckle, trying to brush it off. “People are just bored, I guess,” she said, but the words felt hollow. “They’re looking for something to say.”

“Exactly,” Billie said, her voice firm. “We’re just having fun. Let them think what they want.”

Y/N nodded, but her heart sank a little as she continued scrolling. The comments grew increasingly toxic, mixing with the good ones, creating a tangled mess of opinions and judgments. She was trying to remind herself that the negative voices didn’t matter, but the words echoed in her mind.

Finneas, noticing her quietness, leaned over and nudged her gently. “Hey, are you okay?”

Y/N looked up, forcing a smile. “Yeah, just reading. Some people are pretty dramatic, huh?”

“More like ridiculous,” he replied with a roll of his eyes. “You know you’re amazing, right? Ignore them.”

“Thanks,” she replied softly, grateful for his support.

“Plus, tomorrow’s the release day for the song!” Billie exclaimed, trying to lighten the mood. “We should be excited about that!”

Y/N felt a spark of excitement at Billie’s words, the anticipation of their song finally being released igniting a flicker of hope within her. “You’re right! I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Finneas grinned, clearly enjoying the shift in energy. “I’m pumped too! We’ve worked so hard on this.”

The thought of the release helped wash away some of the negativity. Y/N felt herself getting lost in the moment, allowing the excitement to bubble up inside her. “I just hope people like it.”

“They will!” Billie said, her voice filled with confidence. “It’s brilliant. And if they don’t, who cares? We made something special together.”

Y/N smiled at Billie, feeling warmth radiate from her words. “You’re right. I just need to focus on the good things.”

“Exactly! And tomorrow, we’re going to celebrate,” Finneas declared, raising an imaginary toast with his cup. “To our music and to us!”

“To us!” Y/N and Billie echoed, laughter spilling over once again.

As the evening wore on, the conversation shifted to plans for their release day celebration. They brainstormed fun ideas, from mini live streams to goofy TikTok videos, all while Y/N felt her earlier worries begin to fade.

The night came to a close with the three of them sprawled on the couch, all half-watching a movie while they continued to joke and tease each other. Y/N found herself leaning against Billie, feeling safe and content.

“Hey,” Billie said softly, glancing down at Y/N. “You’re amazing, you know that?”

Y/N looked up, her heart fluttering at Billie’s words. “Thanks, Billie. That means a lot.”

“You deserve to be happy,” Billie continued, her eyes sincere. “No matter what anyone else says.”

Y/N felt a lump in her throat, emotions welling up inside her. “I’m trying,” she whispered.

“Good. Just remember, you’re not alone in this,” Finneas chimed in, his voice steady and reassuring. “We’ve got your back.”

Y/N nodded, feeling a warmth spread through her chest as she nestled closer to Billie. With tomorrow promising to be a new beginning—a celebration of their hard work and creativity—Y/N felt hopeful, determined to focus on the love and support surrounding her rather than the negativity.

And as the night wore on, she held onto that feeling, ready to embrace whatever came next.
