CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
LORELEI ALEXIS SPEARS

It was only one more day until my date with Cedric down at Hogsmeade. Yet, I still had to survive this day of classes and work. Along with Luna, who was still obviously upset about Lorenzo.

“What's the matter with them?” Colby inquired, yawning as we sat next to each other in potions.

Lorenzo and Luna had been avoiding each other all day. Walking past each other like they were each simply ghosts that they had never ever known. It was obvious that something happened between them. I knew it all along.

“They broke up.” I explained simply. “I'll explain in more detail later.”

Colby nodded. He understood why I couldn't explain it now since Professor Snape walked in and cleared his throat to get everyone's attention.

Suddenly I remembered, sadly, that next week I had another detention class with Filch. And sadly, Nott would also have to be there. I secretly hoped he wouldn't show up.

Tomorrow, I would go to Hogsmeade with Cedric, and afterwards meet Theodore in the shops to find ingredients we needed for our potion. I was only excited for one of those things, and it's not hard to guess which one.

After class Colby and I hung out by our usual spot on the lake. I had invited Luna to come with us since she didn't really have anyone else to be around. But she insisted that she'd be fine, and that Colby and I should go by ourselves. I knew she'd be crying her eyes out by the time I would get back to our dorm. Right now, I just figured she would need alone time.

I told Colby all about what happened, since I told him almost everything. Almost. Although before finishing the story, I told him to keep it low profile and he nodded. I doubted Colby would tell anyone anyway. I just had to be sure.

He listened intently as I told him what I knew. He showed a lot of remorse for Luna and how Lorenzo had treated her. Although I knew that he also could see what was going on before anyone else did. Both him and I knew this was a long time coming. We just weren't sure when it would actually happen.

In a way, I felt bad for Enzo. I knew I shouldn't, mostly because he got himself into this situation and he was also clearly the one in the wrong. I couldn't help myself. I felt bad for mostly anyone I could ever feel bad for. I hated to admit it, but Enzo was a very likable person. Even if he did do shitty things.

Colby didn't say anything after I told him. I was wondering why until I also heard the sound of approaching footsteps that Colby must've noticed before. I guess that's why he didn't say anything. He was always so observant like that.

That's another thing I liked about Colby LeStrange. He was very observant at times.

Colby managed a friendly half wave in the direction of our visitor. My shy smile widened a little bit when I saw Cedric taking steps towards us.

“Hi…” I greeted warmly

“Hello beautiful.” He said to me and then turned to Colby, also giving him a warm smile, “Colby.”

“Hey” Colby lifted his hand to greet Cedric once more. “What are you doing here?” He added politely.

“I saw you guys out here, and I figured I'd join. Only if you two don't mind, that is?”
