CHAPTER TWENTY ONE
COLBY LESTRANGE

I basically had to shove Rory out of the door for her to go and meet Cedric outside of the common room. That was only after I had spent the entire morning with her, assuring her she looked pretty after every outfit she changed. And telling her that her hair was perfect all the way through the first style to the tenth. Finally she had decided what she would wear and style her hair like, and yet she was still stalling.

All throughout her indecision I sat on Rory's bed, holding my head in my hands. Luna was laying down on her bed, but was propped up on the bed frame wrapped in a blanket. Her loose blonde hair was flowing over her delicate shoulders. I think I caught myself glancing at her one too many times. Maybe she didn't notice.

Maybe Rory was just making sure we were okay, and that we would be fine while she was gone. Honestly, she worried too much about everything. Although I appreciated it, I did think that maybe it was a little too much.

I decided to keep myself occupied. I might as well go on a walk to Hogsmeade. After all, I hadn't been there in a while, and I figured it might do me some good to take a walk there and back. Then a thought crossed my mind.

Luna and Enzo had just broken up, and from what I've heard she's already moved onto my roomate, Blaise Zabini. I thought it was a little too soon, but who was I to have an opinion on that? Even though I doubt I would be complaining if she moved onto me that fast. After all, I was just glad it was anyone but Nott. That would be like a punch to the gut.

Nott and I were still not on speaking terms ever since that party, and that commotion that went down in our dorm afterwards. I guess I was just glad that he hated me as much as I hated him. Stupid Slytherin pureblood.

“Yeah, yeah” Rory started playfully as I kept urging her to stop stalling and to go on her date. “What are you guys gonna do?”

I thought a minute before answering

“Well” I scratched the back of my head, nervously preparing myself for the rest of the sentence while trying to display a look of confidence. I turned to Luna. “Do you want to go to Hogsmeade or something? Maybe just to help keep your mind off things?”

I waited anxiously for her response.

“Yeah,” she said sweetly, trying to smile. “I think that might make me feel better. Thanks Colby.”

I sat back down on the bed, because if I was standing any longer I was afraid I might get too worked up.

“No problem.” I replied, trying to keep my cool as best as I could. “I'm here to help.”

After a whole lot of convincing Rory that she needed to go, and telling her that Cedric had probably been waiting for her for twenty minutes, she finally left.

Luna and I both sat in awkward silence for a while before she cleared Her throat and got up.

“I suppose I should get ready then” she stated in her soft voice.

I nodded and began waiting for the second girl today to get ready. Luna wasn't as indecisive as my best friend. The first outfit she put on, she kept it on. I think she looked cute.
