Pearl's Perspective-

Pearl nervously picked at his finger nails during the car ride. It was a bit awkward as he didn't know what to say or how exactly to act without getting teased by his parents later.

He glanced over at Lizzie, who was just staring out the window, seemingly very interested in the clouds.

Pearl took a deep breath and was about to put his hand on hers when There's A Light That Never Goes Out started playing. Scott smiled and sang along and Owen giggled, joining in.

"DAD! Eyes on the road!" Pearl shouted, his anxiety spiking.

"Calm down, Pearl we'll be alright." Owen said and Pearl puffed his cheeks.

Lizzie giggled and Pearl blushed a bit.

They arrived at the zoo and stepped out, Scott taking out the sunscreen and rubbing some on Owen's cheeks.

Owen laughed and smiled, leaning into the caress.

Pearl turned to Lizzie who tied her hair up into a high ponytail and wore a visor to keep the sun off of her face.

"Nice hat." Pearl complimented, "but I got one better."

Pearl took out his hat that read 'Women want me, fish fear me' and he put it on.

Lizzie laughed and Pearl smirked, feeling proud he made her laugh.

The four walked into the zoo, Scott grabbing a map after they bought tickets.

There were mini-exhibitions at the beginning with flamingos and parrots. Owen marveled at the flamingos while Scott read aloud later actives happening.

"Apparently some guy's giving the tour of the pandas later." Scott said.

Owen gasped, tearing his eyes from the pink birds.

"Really? We should go! We also have to feed the giraffes."

Scott smiled, "Sure. There's also a boat tour showing the monkeys."

Owen's eyes sparkled and he was amazed.

"We gotta do that!"

Scott laughed and Owen smiled sheepishly.

He then noticed Pearl and Lizzie weren't nearby and looked around.

He saw them on the big playground and Pearl had 'accidentally' kicked a tiny rock towards a kid making them scared and run off the seesaw he and Lizzie wanted to go on.

"Pearl you can't just do that." Lizzie sighed, sitting on one end.

"Come on, they had their turn way longer. The kid was just hogging it." Pearl said, pushing up with his feet.

Lizzie shrugged and smiled as she fell down before she pushed back up.

After a couple minutes they walked away and followed Pearl's dads around the zoo.

Lizzie marveled at the panthers and tigers while Pearl was trying to get the bear awake, but he simply turned around and curled up in his little cave.

Owen and Scott were waiting in line to feed the giraffes while Lizzie and Pearl were grabbing snacks.

"Oh no..."

Pearl perked up when hearing Lizzie's sad tone and he saw where she was looking.

There was a lone stuffed animal on top of a water fountain, waiting for its owner to return.

Lizzie frowned and she walked over, picking the dog up gently. Its head fell to the side and his fur was a bit damp and dirty.

Pearl grabbed the pretzels and followed his girlfriend, seeing her sad expression.

"I wonder how long it's been here." Pearl looked around, not knowing what exactly to do.

Lizzie shrugged and she looked up, seeing a zoo keeper.

"Excuse me." She walked over and the guy tilted his head.

"Why hello there! How can I help you?" He smiled. There was a badge on his shirt reading 'Panda Keeper: Scar Clocker'.

"Some kid left their dog plush." Lizzie handed it to him softly, making sure to be careful.

Scar looked surprised before smiling.

"I'll make sure to put this in the lost and found, thank you."

Lizzie nodded and Scar left back to the main office.

Pearl wrapped her arm around Lizzie.

"See? I told you you're an amazing person."

Lizzie giggled and blushed.

"Shut up, I was just helping."

"Helping a little plush find its home. That's pretty fucking awesome." Pearl said, giving her a slight squeeze.

Lizzie smiled and leaned into the embrace.

-

"Ha your hair is more blue than his tongue." Owen pointed out as the giraffe ate the graham cracker.

Scott rolled his eyes and Owen smirked.

"Oh hey, I found that movie I wanted to show you at the library."

"Which one?" Owen asked, knowing their movie list was forever growing.

"Sherlock, we can watch it when we get back."

Owen gasped, smiling.

"Really? Aww you're really treating me out today."

Scott chuckled, "I'm always making sure to take care of you. You and Pearl."

Owen smiled and planted a quick kiss on his lips.

"Well you're doing a good job at it." Owen said and Scott blushed.
