It's heartbreaking to not have a father but what's worse is having one and still missing that father's affection...

I wish I could show you how much I love you as a daughter but,
you're the reason for my insecurity that I don't want any man...

You gave me everything that I have ever needed but,
it would have been far better, if you could have given me some love and care instead...

I know you never wanted to have me as your daughter but,
you might never know, how many times I needed you by my side as a father...

As a child, I lived with this delusion that you love me and just don't know how to show,
until maturity made me realise everything is just a delusion afterall...

As I grew up, I realised that you, my father, my superhero, is not like how
I used to always mention in those- 'My Dad' essays...

I need you in every stage in life but,
I just wish that you, too, feel the same...

I'm bad at analysing behaviour so, I want words and I'm ready to forgive everything you did,
if, just once, you say - "I'm glad to have you my son"...

I want you to accept me proudly as your daughter and,
not just to hold a good image of a
responsible father in this world...

Till then, I don't know how to celebrate this heart whelming father's day until you gladly desire to be the one!

An essay, I've written on father's day, this year only!

As a child, we need the love and affection of both our parents - mother's as well as father's.
Only one's parenting is never enough.

But sometimes, luck is not in our favour, where, we lack the care and attention of one's or both the parent.

So, this is a simple poetry with a blank verse, showcasing the
not-so- good relationship of a daughter and father where, the daughter is craving for her father's love and attention that she had never got to feel!
