The land curled as a tail
protruding into the lake
The sun was alike gravity
weighing down upon the soil
The wet rocks were akin to fresh paints
drying in the summer breeze
The murky water was identical to smoke
dark, billowing and clouded
The ground was like a desert
flat, crusted and cracked
One tree stood alone
rooted tall in the barren landscape
