(The Spartans land on solid ground as they cough up water and pick themselves up. They turn toward a nearly destroyed statue of Poseidon as it begins to speak)

Poseidon: You two have desecrated my kingdom. I shall not forget this, Spartans. You both will answer for this affront

(Both Kratos and Dratos turn away from the statue as it gets done talking and proceed on their journey to Death's Domain)

(They arrive in a room that has Athena's statue)

Athena: It is not too late to turn back, Spartans. No good will come of this journey. The gods...

(She is interrupted by Kratos and Dratos)

Kratos and Dratos: We are done with the gods.

Dratos: Return to Olympus and leave my father and I be, Witch

Athena: Your father's brother was a threat to Olympus, Dratos. What was done... had to be done. Forgive me

(Something in Kratos' head snapped as he remembers when Deimos was kidnapped, he heard the woman say the same thing as it finally clicked in his mind)

Kratos: You were there? Why? Why didn't you help him?

(Dratos eyes widen as he looks at his father and brings his attention back to Athena)

Dratos: What...?

Athena: I was there for you, Kratos. You had to be saved

(A vein appears on Kratos' head)

Kratos: You should have saved him. I should have saved him

Athena: There is more to this than you or your son could possibly know, Kratos

Dratos: Lies and riddles, that's all you give me and my father, Athena!!!

(Athena is silent)

Kratos: I will save my brother with my son's aid and you will stay out of our way

(The statue stops glowing as the Spartans make their way through the destroyed city of Atlantis, on their path they face many opponents and enemies but the Spartans easily deal with them as they draw closer to Thanatos' Domain)

Death Gate

(They arrive at the entrance to Death's Domain. Kratos places the skull into the slot as roots form a bridge for the Spartans to cross)

(Kratos and Dratos cross the bridge as they enter the portal, where they arrive in Thanatos' realm)

Narrator: The Domain of Death. A dark netherworld nestled between the land of the living, and the realm of the dead. A purgatory ruled by the God of Death, Thanatos

The Domain of Death

(The Spartans begin their quest to Thanatos' Palace as they ascend the stairs)

Narrator: The doors to the Domain of Death. A place neither mortal nor god had dared enter. Worshipped long before the Olympians, Thanatos, the God of Death, dwelled within

(Kratos and his son, Dratos approach the doors as they open them... revealing Kratos' brother, Deimos. He appears to have a beard, armor close to what Kratos wears, and metal or stone gauntlets as Deimos is chained to a tree of some sort)
