Son of the Ghost

God of War II (Chapter 2)

(The Spartans begin to climb out of Hades as they cut down the God of the Underworld's arms. They are determined to escape the Underworld and have their revenge against Zeus for his betrayal)

(Kratos and his son manage to escape as they see a wounded Spartan soldier, lying on the ground, they walk over to their fallen brethren and crouch down beside him)

Last Spartan: My lords, I knew you both could not be killed. I have never lost faith

Dratos: Return to Sparta and prepare for battle

Last Spartan: But our brothers are dead...

Kratos: You can still hold a sword. Spartans do not surrender, do as your gods commands

Last Spartan: And what of you, my lords?

(The sounds of a horse are heard as they turn to see a Pegasus. Kratos and his son return their gaze to the Spartan Soldier)

Dratos: My father and I are going after Zeus, it seems Father and I still have allies on Olympus

(The Last Spartan runs off to Sparta to defend it, leaving Kratos and Dratos on their journey to the Sisters of Fate)

(Kratos walks over to the Pegasus as he hops onto its back. He looks at his son)

Kratos: Son, do you wish to ride with me?

Dratos: No, but thank you for asking. I will use my wings, Father

(Kratos nods as the Pegasus expands its wings and begins to take off. Dratos summons his wings and begins to fly beside the Pegasus that his father is riding)

(On their journey they encounter Griffins, but are quickly and swiftly dealt with, so they don't have distractions)

(They eventually arrive at a mountain, that is a prison to a Titan, one that The Spartans can use its powers to aid them)

Lair of the Titan

(As they fly into the mountain's opening they hear a raspy voice, coming from a giant Titan made of stone)

Stone Titan: Who dares to enter this place?...

(The Titan captures the Pegasus as Kratos and Dratos both have to free it by lifting the Titan's large hand, but they don't have the strength to be able)

(They venture outside of the mountain as they walk on the Titan's arm, which is protruding outside the mountain. The Spartans walk on the arm as they get to its massive palm, where a bird is feasting on a man's stomach as he cries out in agony)

(The bird senses the presence of the Spartans and flies away as the man sighs in relief)

???Man: Gods of War... you both live

(The Spartans stop in front of the chained man)

Kratos: My son and I no longer walk with the gods. Who has placed you in this torment?

???Man: Zeus... My only crime was helping mankind when I took the fires of Olympus to the mortals. Zeus considered a betrayal as punishment. He made me mortal and condemned me to be savagely consumed every day by this cursed bird and then with the fall of night, I am healed... How long have I been here?... How long have I suffered this curse?... I truly do not know

(The man suddenly dies from blood loss as his head hangs. Dratos scowls at the bird, the young Spartan summons one of his Blades of Vengeance and he flings it at the bird at a blinding speed and it impales the bird in the chest. The bird screeches in pain as Dratos rips the blade out, and the bird falls into the fire below the hand as it burns)

(The wound on the man's stomach begins to heal as he is brought back to life)

???Man: Please, Ghost of Sparta and Son of the Ghost, release me from my torment

(Dratos summons his axe as he cleaves the chains, the man falls over the side of the large finger and tangles by his ankle that is wrapped in chain)

(The Spartans make their way down as the man hangs above the fires of Olympus by his ankle. Dratos summons his spear and hands it to his father, who takes it and throws it at the chain, shattering it as the man falls into the fire and cries out in pure agony)

???Man: AHHHHHH!!!

(After they burn the man, red energy goes into the Spartans as their strength and rage are increased tenfold)

(They venture back into the cave as they enter a cavern)

Typhon's Cavern

(The Spartans get onto a platform that is face to face with the stone Titan, the same one that captured the Pegasus in its grasp)

(Kratos runs and leaps off the platform as the Ghost of Sparta grapples the Titan's eye and rips it open as he grabs an energy bow from inside its eye. He jumps down to his son as the Titan roars in pain)

(The Titan inhales as it releases a powerful gust of wind, but the Spartans manage to escape and make their way back to the captured Pegasus)

(The Spartans use their new strength to free the Pegasus as they both hop onto its back and take off to the skies, leaving the mountain to continue their journey of vengeance against Zeus)

Gaia: Spartans, behold. The island of Creation, hold to the Sisters of Fate. Here, the path to your true destiny begins. The island is fraught with danger. It was created to prevent all from reaching the three sisters of Fate, the power of the syst will allow you both to return to that moment, when Zeus betrayed and killed you two, thus changing your fate and the fate of others

(As the Spartans fly on the Pegasus' back, they both are attacked by minions of the Sisters, who ride on Griffens as they try to attack Kratos and his son. Dratos sprays lightning at the minions as the electrical current fires from the tips of his fingers, burning the minions to a crisp)

Kratos: Well done, son. Now we have a clear path

(Dratos nods as he quietly accepts his father's praise)

Dratos: Thank you, father

(Soon after a while they land on a platform as they get off the Pegasus, it takes off into the air, leaving the Spartans to continue their journey)

(The Spartans kick down a draw-bridge as they see a forest on the other side of a large cliff)

Gaia: You both must the way across to the Island, Spartans, for there lies your path to the Sisters of Fate

Dratos: Why do you aid my father and I, Gaia?

Gaia: Zeus must be stopped, Spartans, the story of Revenge has been told before. You both know of the mighty Titan, Cronos, so fearful was Cronos of the Oracle's prediction, that his own children would rise against him, that he decided to imprison them all in his belly. Rhea stood by and watched as her children were devoured one by one, but when the time came for the last of her children to be eaten. She was unable to bear another such loss and devised a trick to save the baby, Zeus. Rhea commanded the eagle to secret us on the way. He was taken to an island far beyond the watchful eyes of Cronos. It was I, who cared for him, it was I, who kept him safe. I nurtured his desire to free his brothers and sisters from Cronos, but my foolish act of compassion would haunt the Titans forever. For in sparing, Zeus, we allowed him to return to us with vengeance in his heart. He betrayed all of the Titans for the sins of just one, the sins of his father, Cronos
