"Jess. Jess!" I hear someone keep yelling at me, my mind still heavy from the influence Marko had over my brain the night prior.
"Jess. You're, you're floating.." They say moderately calmly.
I stir awake, turning to face the door where Michael stood. I notice something odd, the floor all around him and the angle I stared at him from. I was indeed floating. Weirded out by the situation at first hand, I let out a scream. Calming down when I hear my mother yell.
"Jess?!? What's wrong, what happened?" Michael gives me a look to act fast, causing me to falter under the pressure.
"Nothing! Don't worry about it." I yelled back to her, trying to get down from the ceiling but failing.
"Don't worry? You screamed!" She yells back, hearing her make her way up the stairs as she does.
"Block the door!" I whispered to Michael, who was already stepping in front of it.
"Jess!? Open the door. What's wrong? Are you alright?" She kept pushing.
"Just go away, okay?! I'm fine! There's nothing to worry about!" I panic under her persistence, snapping at her as a result.
"...Alright, if you say so, dear." I heard her mutter sadly, leaving. I felt bad. I mean she was only trying to help, and I yelled at her. I had to do something though so she didn't walk in and see her daughter floating in the air, like some kind of freak.
"Hey, don't feel bad. You had to do it. We can't let her find out." Michael tries to assure me.
"I know. I just feel bad. I mean she tries..." I trail.
"I know but we just have to watch out for her. And Sammy." He focuses my attention, helping me down.
"Thanks." I say, getting down on the floor.
"Oh and Jess, don't do anything stupid, we'll find a way out of this." Michael offers a small smile.
I looked outside seeing that it was getting pretty late. I sighed, putting down my book on my night stand. I guess mom is inviting her new boyfriend for dinner tonight. While grandpa is going out on another date. Sammy though, well he's still not talking to me. He's talking to Michael a little bit. But just not me. I exhale, getting up from my bed, about to get changed for bed, when someone knocked on my door. I open it, seeing it was Michael. He was dressed like he was going somewhere.
"I'm leaving. Watch Sammy." He tells me, about to walk away.
"What? No. Where do you think your going?" I demand to know.
"To talk to David." He says, turning around again to walk away.
"Then I'm coming to." I state, walking back in my room grabbing my boots.
"NO! You stay here. Watch Sam and mom." He tried to order me. I falsely give in, putting my stuff aside and letting him go. As if I'm staying here, while Michael goes play bad boy. I grab my stuff hastily, getting ready and leaving swiftly after. I falter in my doorway, Sammy staring at me Inscrutably. I open my mouth to speak to him, but he doesn't give me a chance, leaving me to slam the door in my face.
"Fine. I said I'd stay till you told me to Sammy, I'll leave then." I offer to put further distance since the boy wanted to keep me back. I turn my focus back to my task as I hear Michael still down stairs. I rush after, Michael leaving after letting some guy into the house; presumably my mom's date. I hurry through the kitchen about to leave, when mom stopped me.
"Jess? Where you going?" She asked.
"Out. Have to take care of some things." I grow antsy, hearing Michael's bike start up.
