Epilogue ~ The End
Guys, this is the official end of this book. I honestly did cry while writing this. I've gotten attached to this storyline and Devon. I am not sure if there will be a sequel, but if you stay til the end I will delve into more detail about a possible sequel.
The wedding day.
I sat in the satin robe, staring at my reflection. Amanda had done my makeup, knowing that I wouldn't do much if it were up to me. My makeup made my eyes pop, my cheeks seem seamless, and my skin look perfect. I sat in the chair, waiting to be told what to do. I didn't know what to do. If it were up to me, I would have just taken Austin to the courthouse, signing the forms, being done with it that way.
Austin wanted the wedding, he wanted a ceremony, and I'd be damned if I didn't give him that.
Amanda stood behind me, her fingers working her way through my hair, wrapping my hair around the curling iron, curling it slightly. Amanda insisted that she help me look my best for today, wanting to return the favor from all the times I had helped her with Aaron.
"Are you ready?" Anouk asks, walking over holding the satin bag, holding my dress.
I stand up, walking towards her and taking the bag from her, walking to the corner mirror that showed nearly every angle of me. I hung the bag on the hook, grabbing the zipper and unzipping the bag.
"I can tie it for her," Ashleigh says, "so you can finish your hair and makeup Anouk."
Anouk nods her head, walking towards the makeup, leaving Ashleigh with me.
"You shouldn't be nervous, Devon. Austin loves you, and I know that even if you walked down the aisle in a paper sack he'd still look at you like you're the most beautiful person in the world," she says, taking the dress out of the bag, gently handing it to me.
"I don't think I'm nervous. Maybe just scared. I've tried this once before, and it didn't go well. I don't think Austin is anything like Stephan, and I don't expect anything bad from this. I'm just scared," I say, knowing that Amanda, Ashleigh, and Anouk understand my concerns.
"Devon, as soon as you walk down that aisle, you're going to forget your concerns. Austin is going to look at you like you are the most amazing thing he has ever seen, and you are going to feel beautiful when you walk down that aisle. But, to do that you need to wear the dress," Amanda says from the bathroom. Her voice stern, telling me exactly what I need to hear from her, from anyone really.
I smile, taking the dress in my hand and stepping into it. I turn to Ashleigh, letting her begin lacing the dress up, her fingers working, weaving the ribbon back and forth through the dress.
As I watched Ashleigh work her way through the corseted back, I smiled at myself. Every time I saw the dress I fell in love with it again.
I turned around and looked at my three bridesmaids. Their dresses were long, deep red, and form fitted. They got to pick them, I just picked the color.
There was a knock at the door, and Amanda, being closest to the door, walked over. Opening it to reveal Tino. He smiled at me before walking over to me. "Austin is very concerned that you won't show up. He doesn't want you leaving him at the alter."
"I wouldn't do that to him," I say, Tino pulling me into a hug
"I know you wouldn't, but remember, we're supposed to be starting in five minutes ladies. Austin is walking to the end of the aisle so that we can move to the hall and start getting in order."
"Do you guys wanna head on out there?" I ask, "I need to talk to Tino really quick." They all nod their heads, walking out of the room, leaving Tino and I to ourselves. "How are you holding up?" Zooey should have been here, but he walked in on her sleeping with another guy.
