Chapter Eleven More Suitcases

I’m sorry that this is like the third filler chapter in a row, but it has to be written for the story to advance. I don’t know how long it’ll be so, yeah.. the next few chapters will be longer though, since they start becoming more and more crucial for the story.

The day before Austin and Devon leave for Warped Tour.

“I hate packing. I don’t even know what to pack,” I complained for the fifth time. I had never really stayed on Warped for a long period of time, I didn’t know what to pack, I didn’t know much about Warped Tour, other than it was hotter than hell.

“Just pack clothes that will keep you cool and comfortable. It’s hot, you’re going to sweat and you’re going to be uncomfortable.”

“Thanks for telling me the thing I already knew, Aus, just pack for me.”

“Oh, but the sooner we get done packing, the sooner we can curl up for movies, and then sleep. So if I did all the work, it would get done in twice the time and it would take forever for us to get to watch a movie and sleep.”

“Or, I can go watch movies while you pack for us,” I said smiling, and laughing at the expression that crossed over Austin’s features. “You know I’m kidding, but still, let’s hurry with the packing so I can be done.”

“Well, start with your tank tops and shorts. Those will be some of the most important things you can hope to have.”

“Again, thank you Austin for obvious things.” I rolled my eyes, walking over to the dresser, and opening the top drawer.

I pulled out a variety of bras and underwear, throwing them all into the bottom of my duffel bag, followed by shorts, tank tops, sweat pants, t shirts, everything I would need.

I zipped my second duffle bag up, sitting by the door on top of my other one and Austin’s bags. “I will be happy if I never have to pack another bag in my life,” I groan, laying back on the bed and tilting my head towards Austin.

“Just remember that after tonight, everything is a giant summer vacation,” Austin mutters, leaning down and picking me up. “But for now, it’s going to be me, and you, and the couch downstairs, and the TV.”

“I liked the idea more without the TV suggestion,” I said, smiling at the excited look that crossed over Austin’s features as he carries me down the stairs. “Now, to the couch?”

I laughed as I felt Austin let go of me, my body instantly felt the couch under me. I internally smiled when Austin slowly made his way over, hovering over me on the couch, kissing me. I knew Austin wanted something to happen tonight, there wouldn’t be a chance for much to happen while they were on tour.

I kissed him back, acting as if this was a typical tour, acting as if I wouldn’t see him for three months, acting as if my life was how it always has been with Austin. I gave a confused look towards Austin when he randomly pulled back, standing up and walking to the TV, putting a movie in.

“What’s up Aus?” I mutter, sitting up and looking at him as he walks back to the couch, sitting next to me, wrapping his arms around me and holding me close to him.

“Nothing, I am perfectly fine,” he says, kissing my temple. I could tell he was telling the truth, “I’m just thinking about some stuff,” he continues, looking at me and smiling as the movie starts.

I knew better than to press for information from Austin. He told me everything, within due time. I just laid my head on his shoulder, watching the movie that Austin had put on, it wasn’t one I had seen before.
