Chapter Seven Lovely
Two weeks into Austin’s bed rest.
“Are you sure you’re okay with me going out for the day?” I ask, for what seems like the billionth time that morning. Peeking my head out of the bathroom, holding my straightener in my hand, waiting for yet another okay from Austin.
“Dev, you’ve been so great these past two weeks. I love you, and I know you’re not used to just laying around all day every day. Tino wants to see you, you probably are going crazy without seeing him. I know you haven’t seen him in the past two weeks and you usually see him once every three days when we aren’t touring, so yes. I am perfectly fine with you leaving,” he says, sitting up in his bed, giving me a smile.
“I know, but I don’t want you to get bored and then get up and then do something that’ll get your heart worked up,” I mutter, walking over to the bed and sitting next to his dormant body.
“Please, Dev, for me. Go to Tino’s, drink beer, watch movies, go out to eat, have fun with your best friend,” he said, taking my head in his hands, making me look into his eyes.
I nodded my head slowly, tilting my head towards him, kissing him slowly. “I’ll go, but don’t do anything,” I say, trying to stress this enough for him to listen to me.
“I will, now go get ready. I love Tino and all, but you are not going to his house in my t shirt and a pair of underwear that barely cover anything.
I rolled my eyes, walking over to the dresser and digging through my clothes, finding a pair of light wash skinny jeans along with a blue v neck. I grabbed a bra and a pair of underwear before walking into the bathroom and slipping off what I was wearing before stepping into the shower, washing myself.
I stepped out, drying off and slipping on the clothes for my day before walking out into the bathroom, seeing Austin asleep sprawled across the bed. I rolled my eyes and walked back into the bathroom, getting my makeup on while my hair dried.
My hair was only halfway dry when I picked my phone up, sitting on the bed to put my shoes on.
I scrolled through my contacts until I came to ‘My Ultra-Mega Super Bestie’ and clicked the call button, holding the phone to my ear with my shoulder while I worked the converse onto my feet.
“Hey, Devon. Long time no see,” his voice boomed through the phone bringing a smile to my face instantly.
“Hey, Tino. So, I’ll be over to your house in however long the drive is from Austin’s house to your house. We’re doing something. Austin is refusing to let me lay in bed today. He says I need some bestie time.”
“Which is 100% correct, I’ll order pizza,” he rushed before hanging the phone up, causing me to roll my eyes at him.
I stood up, shoving my phone into my back pocket, and walking over to the nightstand, grabbing my purse and keys before shutting the light off and walking downstairs and out the front door, locking it as I left. I made my way to the mustang, sitting in the drivers seat and heading towards the liquor store to grab a case of Budlight.
I pulled into the driveway and parked next to a red Nissan Maxima. I knew that it didn’t belong to any of the guys, or the crew for that matter. I knew their cars, I had always known their cars. It was slightly confusing to not know who was at Tino’s.
I stepped out of my car, grabbing the case from the passenger seat. I made my way to Tino’s front door and just as I was about to open it, it opened and revealed Zooey.
“Hey, Devon! I was just leaving, does Tino know you’re here?” she asked, her voice not as smooth as I remembered it being at the barbeque, it was higher, it reminded me of whining more than before.
