Chapter Four And They’re Off

So, I realize that I have been neglecting this, along with my entire Wattpad profile, but I've gotten extremely down as of late. My best friend of four years left me, my boyfriend of a long time broke up with me, and my family is having issues. so, I apologize, I'm trying though!.

The next day at the Of Mice & Men concert.

I sighed, leaning against the wall backstage at the venue waiting for Jared to release my boys so that I could wish them good luck before they had to go on stage. I was standing out of the way just watching the techs do their jobs and the crew setting everything up for the show. I used to mess around with the techs, but then they changed a few and the new techs aren’t as fun as the old ones were.

This show wasn’t the first official show of tour. It was more of a ‘hey let’s have a fun show before tour’. There weren’t any opening acts, or time restraints.

I smiled when I saw Jordan let the guys go, them walking over towards me.

“Five minutes till show time, guys,” I heard Jordan call after them, as they walked towards me.

Tino got to me before everyone else and he picked me up in a hug. “I’ll miss you, Dev,” he whispered in my ear before setting me on my feet, keeping a firm hold until I was steady.

I hugged Phil wishing him good luck before hugging Aaron. I hugged Alan and was lifted off of the ground and spun around. I let out a squealish giggle. It was something Alan always did with me. It was just his thing.

Alan pulled away kissing my forehead before walking over with Tino, Phil, and Aaron to get wires and headsets. I turned towards Austin and he gave me a half smile, I knew he was going to put on a great show, he always did.

“I’m gonna miss you Dev,” he started, stopping when I held my hand up.

“No, none of that sad stuff. This is a happy time. You’re about to go on stage and do what you love. You’re about to go play a show for all these kids who look up to you and your band. You’re going to put on a great damn show and you’re going to give these kids exactly what they want alright?” I said, laughing as I heard the rest of the band clapping and laughing at me.

“Well, she just did my job for me. Though, she didn’t use near as many cuss words as I would have,” Alan said, wrapping his arm around me.

Austin pulled me away from Alan and picked me up, holding me so that I was at eye level with him. “I promise. But, that doesn’t mean I won’t miss you, because I will so fucking much.” I just leaned down and kissed him, hearing the guys snicker from behind me. I turned and saw Alan typing away at his phone, moments later to hear my own ring from my back pocket.

Austin set me down and walked over to get his headset from his techs. I pulled my phone out and saw an Instagram notification. Alan had tagged me in a post, great.

alanashby : Look at @devonkelsoooo and @austincarlile they’re so cute. I’m gonna puke. No joke, I’m going to puke at their fucking adorableness.

The picture was Austin holding me in the air, kissing me. It was a nice picture. I laughed before liking it and writing a comment.

devonkelsoooo : Awweh, @alanashby you’ll find someone. I’m sorry that I stole @austincarlile from you. But, sometimes things just don’t work out.

I slid my phone back into my back pocket, silencing it knowing it would be just my luck for it to go off in the middle of the concert. The guys silenced their phones before telling me to hold them and handing them to me. I rolled my eyes at them before walking over to Austin.
