Hello, everyone. It's been a long time, hasn't it? I don't know if people are still invested in this silly little story that I started writing when I was 13. As you can tell by my last author's note from 2020, I never stopped thinking about it. I also never sat down and continued writing like I promised and for that I am really sorry. Today I logged into this account and read some of the words I wrote 9 years ago and I felt very nostalgic, even if some of the typos make me cringe today. Since I am in university now, I have fully decided to rewrite all of my old chapters as a little writing exercise and if there's people out there who will be happy to receive this notification, that's only a bonus. I can't make any promises about the frequency of the release of these chapters, I can only promise that they will come. I thought about the possibility of me deleting the old chapters, but I can't bring myself to do it so I've decided to keep them. Rewritten chapters will be released as new parts, just like this one, and you're free to go back to the old story and read it whenever you like. Thank you for reading this years later. Thank you for motivating me to write when I was younger. I hope you enjoy this new journey of Life Goes On.

Love, Drarryshipper7 (I'm keeping the cringe name too)

Harry's POV:

Harry was trying his hardest not to fall behind, he was trying his hardest to do everything right. This would be the second class he'd be failing in a row if he didn't. Ever since he abandoned the Half Blood Prince's book because of the guilt he was experiencing from becoming a Potions prodigy through somebody else's work, his marks had drastically dropped.

Professor Slughorn suspected it was because of the recent death of his godfather, Sirius Black.

"Harry, I know you're going through a difficult time, m'boy. Everything that happened with Sirius, I can't imagine... But as your teacher there's only so much I can excuse. The last thing I want is to remove you from my class, you understand that." Those were the words Harry heard in every Potions lesson that went by, where he somehow managed to do even worse than he had the week before, if that was even physically possible.

While he appreciated Professor Slughorn's considerate warnings, Sirius was not the reason his presence in class posed a danger to other students. In fact, it was not even because he stopped using the book. Since the beginning of term, Slughorn had placed him in the same class as a certain Draco Malfoy. This wasn't on purpose, of course, the Professor had never given it a single thought, but for Harry this had proven to be quite a big issue.

After years of rivalry, years of taunting and despising each other's existence, he had developed a huge crush on the blonde Slytherin. No matter how hard he tried to ignore it, he started noticing the shine in his hair, the smell of his cologne, or the endearing little blush on Draco's cheeks when he was engrossed in his potion-brewing. It made it very hard to concentrate on anything else.

The next morning, he was sitting at Gryffindor table with Ron and Hermione when Slughorn approached him again.

"Harry, m'boy, may I have a word?" He eyed Ron and Hermione for a split second before he added, "Alone."

Harry shot Ron and Hermione a look of dread. "Of course, Sir," and followed his potions master outside the Great Hall. Slughorn waited for a group of giggling third years to pass them in the corridor before he started speaking. "You must be so busy, Harry," he gave him a sympathetic look which made Harry slightly uncomfortable. "The thing is, I thought about our conversation yesterday, and I'd like to help you. I'd love to keep having you in my class, so you will receive extra lessons on Tuesdays and Saturdays."

When Slughorn paused, Harry thought for a moment. It wasn' a bad idea, he wasn't particularly fond of failing a class and two extra lessons really weren't such a huge inconvenience.

"I'd really appreciate it, Professor. But... Who would be giving me those lessons?" He expected to hear Hermione's name or anybody else from Gryffindor house who was even remotely good at potions.

He should have known bad news would follow when Slughorn hesitated.

"Well, you see... Harry, I know you and Mr Malfoy don't really see eye to eye but I really think—"

"Draco Malfoy?" He was in pure shock. A private tutoring session would only end in disaster.

"There's nothing I can do, I'm afraid. Mr Malfoy is the top student in my class. Unless you would like to fail your N.E.W.T.s next year, you don't have a choice."

Draco's POV:

"Me? Potter's teacher for extra lessons?" Draco almost looked disgusted but on the inside, his heart was close to jumping right out of his chest.

"I'm sorry, that idea is absurd!" As if he had the time for additional work after classes that wouldn't even benefit him. And for Harry?

"It could be a great opportunity for the two of you to get along," Slughorn suggested. It made Draco snort but he quickly played it off with a cough when he saw the look on his face.

It wasn't like him to be obedient, he could just as well have said no and moved on with his life. However, something about the idea intrigued him, being alone with Potter for an extensive amount of time. In his mind, it would be the perfect opportunity to gather as much information as he could. For the Dark Lord, that goes without saying. He mulled it over for a few seconds, taking everything into consideration.

"Alright then, I'll do it."

And as Slughorn thanked him profusely, promising this would count towards his good record and wouldn't go without reward, it was almost like Draco wasn't listening at all. His ears were ringing and there was a small chance he would be sick. How very convenient that he just so happened to have developed a very large crush on Harry Potter himself.

How very interesting this was going to turn out...
