Lucas’s ex, Amy, was in the middle of another heated argument with Andre, her voice rising above the chatter of the nearby cafe.
“Look, I told you I wanted nothing serious! You’re the one who threw away your future with my brother. How are you even sure that baby is mine?” Andre shouted, frustration evident in his tone.
“I can’t believe you’d even say that! You think I’m just playing with your heart?” Amy shot back, her eyes blazing with anger. “Lucas knows I’ve been unfaithful, but he doesn’t know the baby isn’t his. He thinks it’s yours!”
Andre shook his head, his expression a mix of disbelief and anger. “You’re lying to him, Amy! You’ve cheated on Lucas with multiple men while he’s been deployed. Why would you even drag my name into this?”
“Because it’s easier to pin it on you!” she snapped. “Marlon is the father, not you, but Lucas is convinced that it’s yours. I never wanted to hurt him, but now I’m stuck in this mess!”
“Then you need to tell him the truth before this gets any worse,” Andre urged, his tone softening slightly. “He deserves to know what’s really going on. If you keep this up, you’ll lose him for good, and honestly, you should. You’ve made your bed, Amy.”
“I can’t! I can’t face him!” Amy’s voice trembled, and she looked away, fighting back tears. “What if he hates me? He’s already going through so much, and I don’t want to be the one who breaks him.”
“And keeping the truth from him is going to help?” Andre asked, raising an eyebrow. “You’re just adding fuel to the fire. Lucas needs to know the truth about the baby, even if it’s hard to hear.”
“I just wish I could take it all back,” Amy whispered, her eyes filled with regret. “I never wanted things to end up this way. I loved Lucas, but I let my insecurities and poor choices ruin everything.”
“Then stop hiding behind excuses,” Andre said, his voice firm. “You have to take responsibility for your actions. Talk to Lucas, tell him the truth about Marlon and the baby. It’s the only way to fix this.”
“But what if I lose him forever?” Amy asked, her voice breaking.
“You need to be honest with him,” Andre insisted. “If you truly care about Lucas, you’ll give him the chance to choose for himself. He deserves that much.”
With a heavy heart, Amy realized Andre was right. Avoiding the truth wouldn’t help her or Lucas. She had to confront the reality of her actions, even if it meant risking everything. The thought of facing Lucas filled her with dread, but deep down, she knew that keeping secrets would only lead to more pain. Taking a deep breath, she steeled herself for the difficult conversation ahead.
Got it! Here’s the revised scene reflecting that Lucas knows the baby isn’t his and thinks it’s Andre’s, while the baby actually belongs to his younger brother Marlon:

“I visited his house last month, and he wouldn’t even talk to me,” Amy continued, her voice heavy with frustration. “He refused to let me in. I stood outside, begging him to listen, but he just ignored me.”
Andre crossed his arms, his irritation evident. “What did you expect? You’ve already shattered his trust. After everything that happened, how do you think he feels about you?”
“I know! But I thought maybe if I explained myself, he’d understand,” she said, tears welling in her eyes. “He used to love me, Andre. I thought he’d at least let me in long enough to hear me out.”
