The fear of a man never took me over after that day. I knew that I was an adult, (for a wolf that is) and I could fight off humans myself if they tried anything.

I continued to go out in those woods almost every day. The word got out on the news that there was a deadly wolf pack out in those woods, when really I was the deadly wolf pack. Every human was banned to go in those woods, so I never found any other man in those woods, and it made me glad.

I had made friends with some animals in that forest. I met some other wolves, a raccoon, a river otter, and more. The wolves all had names that I would call them by, but the raccoon and the otter, I would just call them "Raccoon" and "Otter" since they had no other name.

When I had first met my wolf friend, Anais, she had told me that I smelt different from the other wolves. She recognized the human scent on me, and I had told her that I would steal food from the humans so I did kind of smell funny. She believed me.

I also met two brother and sister wolves named Rocco and Bessie. The twins were inseparable. The reason I call them twins were because if their scents weren't completely different, you couldn't easily tell the difference between the two. Rocco's scent smelled like charcoal, and Bessie's smelled like blooming daisies.

They both had black fur on the top part of their body, it looked like a jacket on them almost because it had wrapped around their chest and traveled down on the outside of their limbs, and a white under part. Both of their eyes were a piercing green color.

The only difference between their appearance was Rocco had a small patch of red fur behind his left ear. It wasn't noticeable until they had both showed it to me.

Anais' fur was really fluffy; from her face, all the way down to the end of her tail. Her fur color was a golden brown with white fur on her chest, stomach, and the end of her tail. Her eyes were a dark brown. Her fur was such a pretty color, it looked like gold. Her fur color topped with her fur's fluffiness, she looked beautiful.

One Sunday night, I was wandering around the woods near where Rocco, Bessie, and Anais' pack lived. I never went in their territory because I was counted as a lone wolf, and their alpha could kill me if I were to trespass.

I wandered next the stream where Otter lived, but I knew Otter was asleep by this time. It was probably about 8:00 at night. I stared into the stream, looking at my reflection in the water.

What am I? I question myself and I stare through the reflection into my wolf's golden eyes. I shift into my human form, and stare at my human's reflection. I looked at my long blonde hair, and my soft brown eyes. I shift back and forth repeatedly between my wolf and my human forms asking the same question.

What am I? What am I? What am I?

I keep shifting back and forth until it hurts to change, and I make sure I'm in wolf form so I'm not running around the woods naked.

I lay my head on my paws, and rest by the stream for a few minutes, until I hear something rustling in the autumn leaves. It was walking in the direction of the stream. I perk my ears up, and I watch as a fox walks toward my direction on the other side of the stream.

He walks toward the stream and leans down to get a drink.

'Hello,' I greet him.

'Hello Miss,' he politely greets back and continues to get more water. I study his appearance, he was a very large fox. Most foxes were about two thirds his size, but he was a little bigger than I was. His fur was a bright and radiant red, the very tips of his paws were black, and the end of his tail was as well; he also had a small white spot on his chest. His tail was very fluffy and thick; covered in down.

His eyes were a silverish-blue, they stood out to me because foxes didn't typically have blue eyes.

He looked up at me when he was done drinking from the stream, and his fresh scent blew over me. He smelled like a pine tree that had just been rained on, and he had a faint smell of human.

Foxes were tricky and very sneaky. They stole a lot from humans, so I wasn't really surprised when I smelled human on him.

'What's your name?' he asked me.

'Calla, what's your name?' I ask him.

I smell a bit of surprise coming from him, and his eyes widen a bit, but I pretend to ignore it when he quietly answers; 'Al.'

My eyes widen for a second, as I take in his familiar scent again.

'Al..? As in...' I question him, knowing the answer.

'Alan.'
