The teachers had called Randy into the school to "discuss" with me, the principle, Alan and his father about my actions. My actions. Alan stood next to his father by the principle's desk. He would look at me while me and my father sat in chairs in the office, and sneer. When he looked away I would bare my teeth and quietly growl, quiet enough for the humans not to hear.
Randy talked to the principle and Alan's parents about what had happened during lunch.
'Alan was being mean and I beat him up is what happened,' I thought.
"So, Calla, do you want to tell us your side of the story?" Mr. Davids, the principle, asked me. I glared at Alan for a second.
"He decided to be mean to my friend, Grace, and so I beat him up for it! He pushed her out of her chair at lunch!" I explained, raising my voice in the process.
"Calla, don't raise your voice sweetheart," Randy said calmly. I felt my canines sharpen, but I kept them hidden. It is so hard for me right now not to shift and rip Alan's throat out.
When Mr. Davids asked Alan for his side of the story, he told a big lie.
"I wanted to sit with Calla at lunch today and her friend Grace. I wanted to be friends with them, but Calla wouldn't talk to me. I tried talking to her all through class today, but she wouldn't talk to me much at all. It made me kinda sad... And when I sat with her at lunch, I asked her what she had for lunch, and she yelled 'shut up!' and pushed me out of my chair. Grace fell when she pushed me, and her soup went everywhere," he lied making a sad face. I growl a little louder than before, but the humans still couldn't hear it.
"That is a lie!" I yell. "He was bullying me all through class! He made me move my star down to 'okay day!' All I was doing was telling him to hush or to stop! And at lunch, he pushed Grace out of her seat! Is that not right?! So he needed some sense knocked into him, and he needed to know that girls are not weak and don't deserve to be pushed like that!" My loud wolf voice echoed in the office.
Everyone just stared at me, shocked. Even Alan's father. The next thing I know is I see Alan's father slowly turn his head to look at his devious son.
"Is that true, son?" his voice was boiling with hot anger. The smell of anger filled the entire room, mixed with a little fear. All Alan could do was look down at his feet. He was through with the lies; good.
"Three days of after school detention. I expect for both of you to be there. You all are dismissed from my office, have a good day," Mr. Davids said, and we all left.
Randy walked me back to my classroom, but before I went in, he kneeled down to talk to me.
"I'm proud of you for standing up for yourself and your friend, but this cannot happen anymore. No more beating people up, Calla. You cannot show any sign that you are a wolf. I could tell that when you raised your voice, you were using the wolf in you. You have to try your hardest to not show your wolf. Do you understand?" he asked in a sweet voice. I sadly nodded my head.
"I'm sorry, Randy," I said.
"It's okay Calla, I'll pick you up after school dear," Randy said as he hugged me, and walked away so I could walk back into class.
Before I opened the door, Alan came by to get back into the classroom as well. His face was blushed.
"I-I'm really really sorry, Calla. I guess that was me trying to make friends I guess.. heh..." I looked at the scratch I left on his face. It couldn't have been too painful I wouldn't think, but I do have a higher pain tolerance than humans.
"Yeah, it's alright," I pointed to the scratch. "Sorry about that scratch, I guess I just wanted to leave a mark," I said starting to force a laugh.
"Yeah..." he nodded and he forced a laugh as well.
I opened the door to class, and we both walked in together. I looked at Grace and she still had soup on her dress. I guess Alan must have saw that too, and he shamefully looked down at the ground.
We both sat down in our chairs at the same big table we shared together with Grace and another boy named Brice. The rest of class was pretty quiet between our table.
. . .
Every day at school during recess; Alan, Grace, and I would all play together. We played chase, tag, hide and seek, and a bunch of sports. We all would have so much fun together as kids.
