The next day, after a long day of school, Alan texts me around 4:00 asking if I was ready to be picked up.
"Sure," I reply.
He arrives at my house, his mom driving of course, a few minutes after he asked if I was ready.
"We're here :)," he texts me.
I rush to check myself out in the mirror before I leave. Mascara looks fine, check. Green shirt and khaki shorts to compliment my eyes, check. Cute curly hair, check (I had curled my hair this morning for school).
One I do my check up, I rush out of my bathroom and run to the front door, casually walking out and shutting it behind me. I start to walk to the car that's parked in the driveway, and realize I left my phone in the house.
I quickly turn around, run back inside and look for my phone. In my room, in the kitchen, and in the bathroom.
I found it laying on the toilet, conveniently, and snatch it and run back out of the door.
"I'm sorry, I left my phone in my bathroom," I explain nervously, as I climb into the back seat.
"You're fine, dear. It's been so long since I've seen you! You've grown so much!" Alan's mom says excitedly, and looks through the rear-view mirror towards me.
"Mooomm..." Alan groaned from the passenger seat.
"Well I'm sorry I haven't seen my second daughter in forever!" she says, turning around to smile at me.
"Second?" I ask, confused.
"Oh yes, two years ago I gave birth to baby Amelia," Mrs. Reynalds explained, smiling. "She is just the cutest, isn't she, Alan?" I saw Alan roll his eyes through the side-view mirror.
"Sure," he says, plainly. Mrs. Reynalds beamed, and started to drive to their house.
"So, how have you been, Calla?" Mrs. Reynalds asks me.
"I've been pretty good. I haven't had many human friends through middle school, so it's been kinda lonely. I wish that Alan, Grace and I all went to the same middle school," I explain.
"Ohh, Grace, I miss her so so much," she says.
"I do too," I say. "How have you guys been?" I ask.
"The family has been fine. A little crazy because of the new baby, but all is well," she says, cheerily.
"That's good," I say, turning to look out the window.
We arrived at the house after what had seemed like forever. I look at their house; it was definitely different. And much bigger. They must have moved from their old house.
"We had to move into this house so we could live with some other relatives," Alan explained as he held the front door open for me.
"Thank you," I say quietly. Alan and his mom walk into the house after I did, and I take in the size of the house. It was huge. The living room was big, and I could see the kitchen and dining room came off of the living room.
The giant flat-screen T.V. was hung up on the wall in the living room, with an entertainment center below it with tons of movies in it. I look closely and realize that they weren't all just movies, but there were video games piled up in there as well.
I look on the top of the entertainment center; there was a cable box, DVD player, Xbox one, and a Wii U laying there, waiting to be played on.
"You still like video games?" he asked me, holding up one of the Xbox controllers.
