*7th grade*
"Miss White, would you like to solve this equation?" my teacher Mr. Tucker asked me. I looked up at the board, tiredly. '2x-12.'
I sigh and stand up and walk to the front of my class towards the white board. I grab a marker and solve the very simple equation.
"X equals six," I say, plainly.
"Very good, miss White," Mr. Tucker said as I give him a sarcastic smile. I sit back down in my seat at the front of the row. Mr. Tucker didn't like me because I was always tired during his class, so now I sit in the front row. It was the class right after lunch, and I was always tired after I ate.
But let me say; 7th grade is rough without your two childhood friends. Both Grace and Alan went to the same middle school, Richneck Middle School, and I was the one who got stuck at Eatonman Middle School. Richneck and Eatonman were the two rival middle schools where I lived at.
I hate all of the teachers that work here, they are all rich snobs. Most of them were absent at least five times a month. The only teacher I did like was the drama teacher; Mr. Duedap.
He was super funny and his class was always fun. He always had some fun activity for us to do. I made sure I was in his class this year like I was last year.
Once the bell rang, I quickly gathered all of my stuff and speed walked out of Mr. Tucker's room. Math came to me really easily, and Science did as well. That was the class I was headed to next.
I went to my locker and grabbed my science notebook and textbook. As I was putting my math stuff away, I turn to see my friend, Avery. She had very long hair that was obviously dyed a light pink, and faded into a baby blue at the ends. Her skin was pale, and she had very gentle green eyes.
"Hey, Cal!" she greeted me with a smile.
"Hey, Avery," I say back, exhaustedly.
"Are you ready for Science with Mrs. Lasther?"
"No, not at all," I say rolling my eyes.
"Did you do the home work?" she asks.
"Yep," I answer, shutting my locker. "Lets go," I say as I walk around the corner to Mrs. Lasther's room.
Avery and I sit down in our usual seats; I sit somewhere in the middle of the room, and Avery sits next to her boyfriend, Brice. The same guy who was in my Kindergarten class.
Grace, Alan and I all lost contact with each other once we all went to Middle School. The last thing we said to each other was at our 5th grade graduation. Sadly, I don't even remember what we said.
I'm sure that now they're probably in a relationship with each other now, due to the way they acted around one another in 5th grade. My mind flashed back to the day we were all at Alan's house, and he shut the Xbox off to do what ever it was that Grace wanted to do. I felt a small amount of jealousy towards Grace.
I shook that thought off and looked over at Avery and Brice. Why couldn't I be in a relationship? Am I not good looking? Has puberty not hit me yet? I laid my head on my desk and quietly laughed at myself. Puberty.
Science went by in a quick blur, it usually does go by fast. Once the bell rang, everyone in my class stood up and walked out of the classroom.
I was the last person still putting their stuff together, because I hadn't realized the bell had rung until everyone stood up and left.
Avery and Brice stood next to me as I hurriedly put my stuff together and I scurried out of the door. I made a beeline to my locker. I quickly opened my locker, put all my stuff in my book bag, and ran out of the school to go stand in the bus lot.
Avery had always left me to hang out with Brice after school, since his mom picked Avery up as well as Brice when school was over. When they called my bus slot number, I walked onto my bus, along with a bunch of other loud and obnoxious kids, and sat down in my usual seat.
I pulled my headphones out of my book bag, plugged them into my phone, and listened to my music. I stared out my window, not saying a single word until a boy came and sat next to me.
"Hey," he greeted me, shyly.
"Hello," I say in return, pulling out one of my earbuds.
"I'm sorry I came to sit here, the back of the bus was too loud," his brown eyes settled on my eyes. Taking a closer look at him, I remembered that he and I had the same bus stop.
"Don't apologize, you're fine, dude," I say teasingly and he and I giggle together.
"What's your name?" he asked politely.
"Calla, what's your name?"
"Vincent," he replied, and flicked his long, brown hair to the side. He was pretty cute. He had the two cutest freckles on his lip and his cheek, just below his eye.
"Cool," I say casually, ignoring my thoughts. Vincent was a pretty cute name.
Once the bus stops at our bus stop, we both stand up and walk off the bus. He turned around and looked at me funny after we got off the bus.
"Oh yeah, we have the same bus stop," he said, slapping his palm onto his forehead. He and I laugh together at his slow realization.
"So would you mind if I sit with you again tomorrow, kid?" he asked with a smirk.
"Nah, I wouldn't mind," I answer, shrugging.
"Cool, see ya later, squirt," he walked off, waving. I waved back to him. Damn was he fine. I thought as I walked toward the direction of my house.
