"Alan, I have some horrifying news," I whisper into my phone. Rose and Dax were sitting in my room playing our Xbox, so I have to keep my voice low. I wondered why they couldn't have just used Daxton's Xbox.

"What happened?" he asked. He sounded a bit tired. Alan usually took a nap after school, but I didn't care. This was more important than an extra two or three hours of sleep that he didn't need.

"The rogues are back," I whisper.

"Shit. How did you find out that they were back? Did you see one? But their leader died from that truck!" I heard him snicker at the thought of the accident, as I did.

"I found a boy in the woods who had been attacked by one. I actually don't know how many attacked him exactly, but all I got from him was 'Rogues' and then he passed out again," I explain. "He told me that he was a shifter."

"What does he shift into?"

"A coyote, but that doesn't matter, Alan. We have to get out there and stop the rogues. They may have a new leader waiting out there for us," I say with a shiver.

I heard him pause for about a minute. There was a long silence until until he said; "I'm on my way," and hung up.

. . .

I stand outside on my front porch and watch as Alan's silver Honda Civic pulls up with him driving. He parks the car on our big, long driveway next to mine; a dark blue Chevy Cruise. He quickly jumps out and runs toward me, and I run towards him.

"We have to go in there," I say, looking in the direction of the woods.

"Yeah, we do," Alan says, and he begins to run the direction we always go to get to the woods. I quickly follow him, and I avoid shifting into my wolf, since it is now rush hour.

. . .

While we were running, I decided to call Mom to tell her to be ready to leave the house. She had told me that she was going to bring everyone, except Daniel and herself, to the woods in case if we needed backup. Alan called his family and they said that they could bring some of their relatives along as well.

As we were running, we had to jump in front of moving cars, run around them, Alan even slid across the hood of one van. I felt bad for the people inside the cars, because we looked like complete hooligans running around cars like the way we were. I'm surprised nobody called the cops on the two of us.

As soon as we reached the forest, Alan and I shifted. I didn't care if my clothes ripped. Mom had the money to easily replace them.

I followed the dirty scent of rogues starting from where Daniel had been attacked, through the green shrubs and trees. There had to be at least ten of them that had attacked the poor child. That made me a bit nervous thinking about it.

I realize that there had, in fact, been many rogue wolves here due to the obvious fact that there were fresh wolf paw prints trailing together as a pack. They were headed in the direction (that I vaguely remembered) towards the rogues' hide out. I keep my nose held low to the ground, and my eyes peeled as Alan carefully followed closely behind me on high alert for any danger.

Once we have reached our destination, we were welcomed by, I count, fifteen warrior rogues. They all made a large, snarling circle around Alan and I. We stood, flank to flank, baring our teeth in return to our warm welcome.

The wolves shove us, still keeping the circle formation, into the dark and smelly cave. We obey, and follow them into the darkness.

We kept walking down the winding hallways of the never ending cave. It smelled even worse than it did before. Even more of the trashy smell, even more of the bloody smell, and even more of the muddy stench.

'Keep walking!' one of the rogues yelled at me, and I quietly growled at him. I had only stopped to read the writing carved onto the wall that said: "KILL ALL PACK WOLVES." underlined in blood. I look back at it and shudder.

We reach a room that was darker than the rest of the rooms, and even the hallways. The hallways at least had a few torches lit up here and there, but this room had no lights or torches. I hear a 'flick' sound, and see a small fire flare out of a lighter. The fire from the lighter spread through a large fire place, and the room was lit up by a dim fire.

I saw a desk covered in papers and what it looked like to be wolf bones. I shudder again, and a man figure stands up to face us.

"Who dares to disturb me!? I was meditating!-Oh?" he looks at Alan, then to me. The man looked to be about in college. From what I could see, he had very long brown hair, and dark eyes.

"Who are these two? They do not smell like rogues," the man says. The rogue wolves all shift into their human forms.

"They're pack shifters, sir," the rogue that yelled at me to "keep walking" said to him.

"Hmmm," he hums to himself, thinking, with his hand on his chin. "Leave," he says immediately.

"Yes, Alpha," the rogues all say in unison, bow their heads, and leave the room. After they close the door behind them, the "Alpha" walks towards Alan. Alan bares his teeth, and the man orders both of us to shift into our human forms. Alan does so, but I cannot due to the fact that I would be naked in front of a man that is probably going to rape me.

"Morgan?" Alan worriedly looks at me. "Just do it," he says. I shake my head. He gives me his mad glare, and I sigh then slowly shift into my human form. I try to proudly stand in front of the man, only I fail and end up looking really awkward. I think about how airy it is in this room without clothes. I shiver.

"Are you cold? Do you need a blanket?" the man asks me with a smirk. He was walking closer to my direction, looking me up and down. I frantically shake my head no, and back away from him. Alan growls.

The leader growls in return to Alan, but he sounded more like a feline than a wolf. I snicker and Alan quietly laughs at him.

"Dude, what the hell was that?" I ask, giggling.

"You both won't be laughing when you see what I can shift into," he says, and I watch his teeth sharpen into cat-like fangs. I immediately stop laughing, and Alan does the same.

My eyes widen as the rouge shifts into a mighty beast instead of a tough canine. His large mane shook around him, and his tail flicked around behind his flank. His sharp claws dug into the ground, and his tongue glided across his now deadly sharp teeth.

He slowly shifts back into his human form, his clothes returning as well, and he smirks while Alan and I stand there, both of us shocked at what we just saw.

"Now, you're going to do what I say to you two, or I will kill you both."
