I canceled my plans
Thinking you'd call me.
I stayed up till 3 a.m.
Hoping for a text from you.
When I reached out, you said you were busy,
You only reply when I make the first move.
I booked tickets for us,
But you never showed up.
You threw a birthday party at your place,
But you "forgot" to invite me.
And then you asked for forgiveness.
When I tried to talk to you,
You ignored me as if I didn't exist.
Every time, I gave you my full attention,
But you never gave me yours.
I was foolish to think
That one day you'd finally see me.
I hope you get the déjà vu,
And feel what I felt all along.
