Kevin had been skeptical when the idea of a baby shower was first brought up. Neither he nor Nico had wanted to make a fuss, and the idea of being the center of attention during such a vulnerable time made Kevin uncomfortable. But then, scrolling through social media one day, Kevin stumbled upon a concept that clicked with him immediately—a nesting party. It wasn't about the gifts, but about getting their home ready for the baby, and Kevin liked the idea of his friends helping them prepare.

After sharing it with Nico, who instantly supported the idea, they set a date. Their home would soon be filled with friends and fellow drivers, coming together to help put the finishing touches on their new life as parents. Nico had already cleared out the office, leaving the space ready to be transformed into the nursery. The anticipation of seeing everything come together filled Kevin with a sense of excitement, making him feel more prepared.

The day of the party arrived, and as promised, their friends showed up in full force. Even some drivers from other teams had accepted the invitation, wanting to be part of this special day. It wasn't long before the house buzzed with activity—people moving furniture, painting walls, and assembling the little pieces that would make up the nursery.

Kevin found himself surrounded by friends at every turn, which helped ease the separation anxiety that had been creeping in lately. The presence of others made him feel more grounded, as though the baby wasn't just his and Nico's journey, but something their entire support system was involved in.

Some of the younger drivers, like Lando, Yuki, and Oscar, were especially fascinated by Kevin's growing belly. They gathered around him, asking all sorts of questions. Yuki was particularly bold, pressing his hand against Kevin's bump and grinning like a child. "Does the baby kick a lot? Can I feel it?"

Kevin chuckled, amused by their enthusiasm. "Yeah, the baby's been kicking more lately. It's pretty amazing, but sometimes they wake me up in the middle of the night."

Lando tilted his head, grinning mischievously. "Can you feel it now?"

Kevin smiled softly, guiding Lando's hand to the right spot. "Yeah, just there."

When the baby gave a little kick, Lando's eyes widened in delight. "Woah! That's so cool!" he exclaimed, and the others leaned in, eagerly awaiting their turn to feel the baby's movements.

It made Kevin feel warm inside, seeing how excited everyone was. He even found it funny when some of the questions became overly curious or downright weird. Yuki asked if Kevin craved strange things, while Oscar wondered how they would fit the car seat in the race car—a question that left everyone laughing.

Throughout the afternoon, Nico kept a close eye on Kevin, making sure he was comfortable and content. Every few minutes, he would pop into the nursery to check on Kevin, watching him interact with the others. Nico couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy whenever someone got too close to Kevin, especially when they placed their hands on his belly. But he swallowed it down, knowing that Kevin needed this. It made him happy, and that's all that mattered.

Instead of dwelling on his jealousy, Nico focused on helping the others. He worked alongside Daniel, assembling the crib, while George helped sort through the mountain of gifts that had arrived. Daniel grumbled as they struggled with the instructions, but Nico found it oddly satisfying to see the nursery coming together. It was real now—their baby was coming soon.

Even more gifts arrived that day. George brought a slightly bigger box than the last time, filled with books of all shapes and sizes. "I didn't see these in the pile before, so I thought you might need them," he said with a grin.

Kevin beamed, flipping through the pages. "Thanks, George, these are perfect."

As the day wore on and the nursery took shape, Nico took a step back to admire the room. It was coming together so beautifully, filled with soft pastels and cute little details that made it feel welcoming. He glanced over at Kevin, who was sitting comfortably on the couch, his belly prominent, and surrounded by their friends. The sight of Kevin, glowing and happy, surrounded by so much love, made Nico's heart swell.
