The Sauber garage was buzzing with last-minute preparations, a symphony of whirring drills, shouted instructions, and revving engines. Amidst it all, Kevin sat on a workbench with Helena perched beside him, her little legs swinging as she took in the flurry of activity around her.

Nico stood near his car, already in his Sauber race suit, adjusting his gloves. His helmet rested on the car's nose, gleaming under the lights. He looked calm on the surface, but Kevin knew him too well—there was a nervous energy in the way his fingers fidgeted, and his eyes kept darting toward them.

"Papa vroom fast now?" Helena asked, her voice a mix of excitement and impatience. She wore a Sauber team shirt, just like Nico's, and her face was lit up with pure joy.

Kevin chuckled, brushing a stray curl out of her face. "Almost, sweetheart. Papa has to get ready first."

Nico glanced over and smiled, walking toward them. The tension in his shoulders seemed to melt away the moment Helena's eyes met his. "Hey, my little troublemaker," he said, crouching down in front of her. "You excited to see Papa race?"

Helena nodded furiously, her curls bouncing. "You win?"

Nico laughed softly. "I'll try my best." He reached out to tweak her nose gently, then looked up at Kevin. "You okay?"

Kevin nodded, though his smile carried a mix of pride and longing. "Yeah. We're just here to cheer you on."

"Good," Nico said, standing and leaning in for a quick kiss. "I need you two here."

Helena tugged at his hand, drawing his attention back to her. "I help Papa?"

Nico grinned and reached for his helmet. "Of course. You're my best helper."

He handed it to her, and she held it carefully with both hands, her face serious as she lifted it toward him. "Here, Papa."

Nico bent down, letting her place the helmet on his head. Her little fingers fumbled with the visor, and she scrunched up her nose in concentration. "Close it?"

"Go ahead," Nico said, his voice muffled by the helmet.

With a tiny squeal of determination, she flipped the visor down and clapped her hands. "All done!"

Nico gave her a thumbs-up, then held out his hands for the gloves she was already reaching for. She handed them over with a proud smile. "You go fast now, Papa!"

Kevin chuckled, pulling Helena onto his lap as they watched Nico slip on his gloves and flex his fingers. "She's got her priorities straight."

Nico stood, his eyes soft as he looked at his little family. "I'll see you both after. Keep cheering for me, okay?"

Helena waved her tiny hand enthusiastically. "Go, Papa! Vroom, vroom!"

Nico laughed, giving her one last wave before turning back to his car. The Sauber team swarmed around him, strapping him in and making final checks.

As the car roared to life, Helena clapped her hands over her ears but kept grinning. Kevin wrapped an arm around her, holding her close. "He's got this," he murmured, more to himself than to her.

Helena nodded, her eyes glued to the car. "Papa win," she declared confidently.

Kevin smiled, kissing the top of her head. "Yeah, sweetheart. Papa's gonna do great."

And as Nico rolled out onto the track, Kevin couldn't help but feel a swell of pride that nearly overwhelmed him. It wasn't just another race—it was their life, chaotic and beautiful, exactly as it should be.
