The next day, you decided to take Malfoy's words to heart and to make a conscious effort to push any thoughts of Cedric aside. You were projecting more confidence than you truly felt, but the idea of being completely over him fueled your determination. Hermione arrived at your dorm room, ready to walk you to breakfast.

"You got in late last night," she said, concern etched on her face.

"I went up to the Astronomy Tower to clear my head. I'll admit I was feeling sad about Cedric more than I let on, but I managed to release some of those emotions," you chuckled.

"That's great!" she smiled, clearly relieved.

You thought about mentioning Draco but decided against it, not wanting to invite any further questions.

Halfway to the Great Hall, Hermione suddenly stopped in her tracks. "Bloody hell, I forgot my Transfiguration notes! I'll be right there—just save me a seat!" she exclaimed before rushing back toward the common room. You chuckled softly to yourself and continued walking when you suddenly caught the sound of Cedric and Cho's voices echoing from around the corner. You wanted to walk away, to stop listening, but you were frozen in place.

"You're really going to enter again?" Cho pleaded, her brow furrowed with concern.

He chuckled softly. "I'll be fine, don't worry. Last year wasn't too bad".

"But what if it's different this time?" she asked, worry etched across her face. "I don't want you to get hurt, Cedric."

"The only thing that could ever hurt me is us not being together"

"Im serious Cedric" she sighed.

"So am I! And I mean it. I love you Cho. I have complete confidence in my abilities to tackle any challenge they throw my way."

Those words were enough to make you want to flee anywhere else in the castle. In the two years you'd been with Cedric, he had never once said that. He loved Cho? After claiming they had only just started dating? Ridiculous. He must have been seeing her long before he had let on. The unfairness stung, and you felt a surge of desperation for revenge. You didn't just want to make Cedric jealous—you wanted him to need you back.

As you hurried through the halls, carefully plotting your plan, you spotted Fred and George and swiftly approached them. "Is your offer for love potions still on the table?".

George chuckled as Fred raised an eyebrow. "Ah, looking for love potions are we? Dangerous territory it is. It'll set you back five Galleons, but if you're serious, just remember to use it wisely" George whispered.

You smiled and slipped him the coins. Fred dug into his pocket and pulled out a small heart shaped vial and handed it to you.

At this point, you didn't care who fell for you—you just needed Cedric to see you with someone, anyone. You went about your day, contemplating who might be the right choice. After dinner, you waited patiently in your dorm as the common room settled into silence. You quickly glanced through the gap in your door to ensure the coast was clear, before slipping out silently.

Desperation drove you as you entered the Great Hall, where you spotted a cup of pumpkin juice. You discreetly poured in the vial's contents and made a beeline for the exit. You carefully pushed the large doors open, praying to Merlin they wouldn't squeak. Slipping through, you gently closed them behind you with a quiet sigh of relief. This relief was short-lived as you jolted at the sight of Draco leaning against the wall to your right, his signature smirk already in place.

"Didn't think you were the type to sneak around, but here you are" he smiled.

"I wasn't! I was just heading back to my dorm," you replied, doing your best to sound casual.

Draco's eyes narrowed as he scanned you, suspicion flickering across his face. "And what's that you're hiding behind your back?"

You quickly brought the cup into view. "Oh, this? Just pumpkin juice. I was feeling thirsty, that's all."

He reached for the cup, but you instinctively pulled it back. "I wouldn't—this pumpkin juice is terrible. I was just about to throw it out."

Rolling his eyes, Draco snatched the cup from your hand and took a long sip before you could stop him. "Tastes fine to me," he said, smirking as he wiped his mouth.

You stood frozen, panic rising as you struggled to maintain your composure, but your expression betrayed you. You were in way deeper than you'd intended. "Are you alright?" he asked.

"I'm doing great! Uh, are you... alright?" you nervously chuckled.

He scrunched his face in confusion and looked at you strangely. Rolling his eyes, he passed you back the cup and walked away. You sighed in relief, hoping that just one swig of the potion wouldn't cause too much trouble. As you watched him leave, you realized it was probably best to toss it. It was pointless, and you cursed yourself for sinking this low. No matter who you were with, Cedric's feelings for you had faded. You poured the pumpkin juice out on a nearby bush and headed back to your dorm.

Hopefully, a night's rest would help erase the memories of everything that had happened today. You quickly fell asleep, but three loud knocks thrusted you wide awake. "Yes?" you groaned, still half-asleep. There was no response.

"Who is it?" you asked, this time with more annoyance in your voice. Three even louder knocks answered, forcing you on your feet to open the door. Irritated, you pulled it back and found Draco standing there. "What are you doing here?" you asked, glancing at your watch. "It's almost 2:00 in the mor—"

Before you could finish, he strode in and quickly locked the door behind him. He backed you against the wall, his warmth enveloping you. His left hand rested beside you, while his right found its way to your waist. His grip was firm yet gentle, and although his cologne was a bit overwhelming, there were subtle hints of apple that were surprisingly pleasant. He brushed a stray strand of hair from your face and tucked it behind your ear. Leaning in closer, he whispered softly, "I've never wanted anyone as much as I want you right now." With that, he placed his hand behind your neck, and pulled you in to meet his lips. It began softly, but quickly turned desperate and needy. He explored your mouth with his tongue and his hand began traveling down from your waist, to meet your inner thigh.

As much as you were aware of how poorly this would end, you couldn't bring yourself to pull away. He might have been a arrogant spoiled brat, but the sensation of his hands on you was utterly intoxicating.
