Yash was downing his 10th bottle of alcohol, drinking nonstop. His friends, including Arjun, tried to stop him, but he ignored them.
All he could think about was Rooh's tears and how she had been shaking after he betrayed her. Every time he closed his eyes, her sobs echoed in his mind.
He remembered that day in the fighting ring when he first saw her. In the middle of the match, he glanced over and spotted Rooh standing there, tears streaming down her face.
The sight struck him like a punch to the gut.
At that moment, he had wanted nothing more than to wipe those tears away and ensure she never cried again. It felt like a protective instinct had taken over him.
He had even stopped fighting for a second, his heart aching for her.
But today, he was the reason for those tears. It hurt him deeply to know that he had caused her so much pain.
How could he have turned into the very monster she feared? The memory of her crying haunted him, and he struggled to push it aside.
Arjun and the others tried to pry the bottle from his grip, but Yash shoved them away angrily.
In a moment of heat he was ready to cut his hand...
But just then, Arjun slapped him hard across the face, snapping him back to reality.
"Stop this, Yash! You shouldn't be doing this to yourself!" Arjun shouted, snatching the bottle from Yash's hand.
"You should have never fallen in love with her. Just move on and focus on your career. You're throwing everything away for someone who isn't meant for you."
Yash looked at Arjun, tears brimming in his eyes. "But I loved her... I still do..."
"I know, I know," Arjun said, his voice softening.
"But she was never right for you. She's rich, and you're poor. That's just how it is. Come back to reality. She'll be fine. Her parents will take care of her. You've worked too hard to get where you are, so don't waste your talent on feelings like love. You can't let this destroy you."
Yash felt lots of emotions anger, sadness, and regret. Deep down, he knew Arjun was right, but the pain in his heart made it hard to accept.
The thought of Rooh's tears kept replaying in his mind, reminding him of everything he had lost.
Yash sat there, lost in thought, replaying the harsh words Rooh's parents had said to him.
"You're not worthy of our daughter."
"You can't make her happy."
"You have nothing."
Those words hurt because they were true. He had no money, no family, and now, no love. He was an orphan, abandoned as a baby with only a note saying his parents couldn't afford to raise him.
He grew up in an orphanage, constantly feeling alone and getting into fights. The bullying never stopped, and his childhood was full of pain that still haunted him.
He understood why Rooh's parents were concerned. They just wanted the best for their daughter. What did he have to offer her?
If he didn't win his boxing matches, he wouldn't even have food to eat. His hunger had driven him to become a boxer.
At 14, he ran away from the orphanage after being bullied one too many times. He lived on the streets, stealing food to survive.
One day, he saw a man win a boxing match for prize money. That's when he realized this could be his way out.
