The marriage was complete. As Kavya looked back at her father one last time, her heart ached slightly.

He didn’t say much but nodded, and she turned away, stepping into a new life with Vijay’s family.

Vijay’s mother was overjoyed and welcomed Kavya warmly, talking to her sweetly throughout the journey.

It was evident that Vijay's family was trying their best to make her feel comfortable.

The marriage had taken place in their village, due to the rush, they had no choice but to do the wedding here.

Vijay stayed close to Kavya the entire time, his hand firmly holding hers, his smile reassuring her that she wasn’t alone.

His father, though initially against the rushed marriage, spoke kindly to her now.

He didn’t agree with Vijay’s immaturity in handling things but respected Kavya as his daughter-in-law.

Once they reached Vijay’s house, a grand entrance awaited. Rituals began, Kavya kicked a rice-filled glass as part of tradition, entered the house with her right foot first, and was warmly welcomed by Vijay’s grandparents and mother.

Despite the chaos of the day, they all smiled, embracing the start of a new chapter.

By the time all the rituals were complete, it was late into the night.

Everyone was exhausted and decided to retire to their rooms to rest. Vijay, however, stayed by Kavya’s side, guiding her gently upstairs to their room.

When Kavya entered the room, she paused, taking it all in.

The space was clean, neat, and well-organized
nothing like what she had imagined.

Vijay noticed her expression and smiled knowingly.

“I made sure to change everything for you,” he said softly.

“It’s your room now, too. I wanted it to feel like home for you.”

The room was large and modern, but it also had a cozy, homely touch.

It was evident that Vijay had gone out of his way to prepare it for her. Kavya’s heart fluttered slightly, but she quickly brushed the feeling aside.

As she stood there, shy and unsure, she realized one thing, she would be sharing this room with Vijay.

Her cheeks flushed at the thought. Before she could say anything, Vijay locked the door and started walking toward her.

Her heart raced.

Was he going to...?

She backed away slightly, nervous. Vijay stopped in front of her, leaned down, and kissed her forehead gently.

Her eyes widened in surprise as he pulled back and smiled.

“That’s it for now,” he said, his voice calm and teasing.

“You’re safe with me, Kavya.”

He walked over to the couch, grabbed a fresh bedsheet, and began setting it up.

“I’ll sleep here tonight,” he added, glancing back at her.

“But not forever. I’ll only share that bed when you fall for me completely.”

Her breath caught as he looked at her with determination.

His next words felt like a promise:

“Don’t worry, Kavya. I won’t cross any lines, not like I did during the engagement. You have my word.”
