Sieun's bag landed on the couch with a resounding thud, her laptop miraculously surviving the impact. Shotaro's eyes widened in alarm as he set aside the watering can, his expression a mixture of amusement and exasperation.

"I ain't buying you another laptop!" he yelled, shaking his head. Sieun pouted, flopping onto the couch beside her bag, her frustration palpable.

"I hate this world, I hate everyone" she declared, her drama evident. Shotaro frowned, concern etched on his face. "Who bothered you now?" he asked, his tone gentle.

Sieun's response was immediate, her words tumbling out in a rush. "Hong Seunghan. Your teammate." Shotaro's confusion deepened.

"He's such a nice guy, though." Seunghan's reputation as a calm and collected teammate was well-known, and Shotaro couldn't fathom what had triggered Sieun's ire.

Sieun's scowl intensified, her eyes flashing with anger. "I just hate him" she stated, her voice firm, leaving no room for argument. Shotaro raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her vehemence.

"What did he do?" he asked, his curiosity piqued. Sieun crossed her arms, her eyes flashing. "Everything. He just exists." Her voice dripped with disdain, and Shotaro chuckled, recognizing the absurdity of her statement.

"That's a new one" he said, sitting beside her. "Care to explain?" Sieun's glare silenced him, but he could see the turmoil brewing beneath her surface.

Her gaze dropped, "I don't know," she admitted, her words hesitant. "I don't entirely hate him." This confession seemed to catch her off guard, and she paused, collecting her thoughts. Shotaro waited patiently, his silence encouraging her to continue.

"It's just sometimes his presence is comforting," she said, her eyes drifting, recalling a specific moment. "Like that time at the convenience store. I was glad he was there." Her expression shifted, frustration resurfacing. "But then today's art class happened, and I was annoyed at him again."

"He's really different" she stated, her voice laced with confusion. "One minute he's calm and collected, the next, he's pushing my buttons"

He's weird

Aeri, Seunghan's mother, frowned at her son, who had been rummaging through the store room since his arrival, searching for a kid's diary. The room was in disarray, with boxes and items scattered everywhere. "Look here, you little brat, you're ruining my house" she spat angrily, her eyes scanning the chaos.

Seunghan remained unfazed, his tone lazy. "Just for today, mom." He removed another box from the shelf, his focus unwavering. Aeri's curiosity got the better of her. "Exactly what is in that diary?" she asked, her eyebrows furrowed.

Seunghan shrugged. "Maybe something about his first love or his failed tests hidden in that diary." Yerin chimed in from outside, "Or maybe his deepest secrets!" Seunghan rolled his eyes.

"No pocket money for you this month," Seunghan yelled back, prompting Yerin to gasp loudly as she ran inside the store room, passing Aeri, who rolled her eyes at her kids' antics.

Yerin approached Seunghan, her voice soft. "How should I help you, oppa?" Seunghan threw up his hands. "Just get the fuck out of here" Yerin's eyes rolled. "I'm trying to be a good sister, and you're being rude." Seunghan's expression remained unyielding.

"Fine, you kids tidy up before you come downstairs," Aeri instructed, her gaze flicking to the clock on the wall.

And her eyes narrowed, voice laced with annoyance. "Your father might be arriving soon, and dinner will be ready." But Seunghan halted her, his words dripping with nonchalance. "I'll eat outside today."

His mother's anger flared, her tone biting. "Just tell me you don't like my cooking." Seunghan's smile spread, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he winked at his mother.

Aeri sighed, shaking her head. "This is why there's no use in raising kids." She turned to leave, her frustration palpable.

Yerin piped up beside Seunghan, her voice hopeful. "Parcel for me too?" But Seunghan swiftly ushered her out of the storeroom.

"Just eat what Mom cooks" he advised, his tone firm but playful. "I'll buy you food once you're older." Yerin's whine filled the air.

Seunghan chuckled, shutting the storeroom door behind Yerin. His thoughts returned to the diary, his search far from over.
