Odysseus began to wrap the wires from the harpoons around the mast to secure them and make it safe to climb up them. "Please don't tell me you're about to do what I think you'll do." Eurylochus pleaded, pulling Odysseus away from the mast.

"You've heard the legends of the island in the sky; this proves they're true. We're in the home of the wind god!" He argued back, aware of the crew around them watching the argument happen.

"And what's your plan?" Eurylochus refused to back down, challenging Odysseus in front of everyone.

"I'm gonna climb to the top and ask 'em for a hand." He reminded himself to lower his tone and not yell at Eurylochus like he so desperately wanted to.

"You could be caught off guard and lose your life or piss off this god and infuse us with strife. Don't forget how dangerous the gods are!" He had to admit, Eurylochus had a point but it was too late now to agree.

"Have faith, friend, we've come this far." He knew his reasoning was weak but with the crew watching he couldn't cave and let Eurylochus win. Not when he was so close to home.

"Yes, but how much longer til your luck runs out? How much longer 'til the show goes south? How much longer 'til we all fall down? You rely on wit, and people die on it." Eurylochus argued and the crew murmured in agreement.

"I still believe in goodness,I still believe that we could be kind, Lead from the heart, and see what starts." Odysseus glanced at Polites, who held tightly onto the side of the ship and gave him a reassuring smile.

"And what will we do when it tears us apart?" Eurylochus insisted, taking a step closer and gesturing towards the crew, who nodded in agreement with him.

"Where is this coming from, my friend?" (the cyclop's ass) Odysseus tried to ask gently, despite the fact he wanted to scream and shout at Eurylochus.

"I just don't wanna see another life end, You're like the brother I could never do without." The second-in-command answered honestly, trying to see his captain's reaction.

"And suddenly you doubt that I could figure this out?" Feigning amusement, he asked his second-in-command the question.

"Yes, just like how I doubt that you love your wife." Odysseus felt his heart drop. Was it that obvious he was falling out of love with Penelope? Sometimes, when he slept, he dreamt about her but it was no longer the same loving dreams. Instead, he saw Penelope in the arms of a monster; gazing up at it lovingly; just like how she used to look at him.

"Captain, how much longer til your luck runs out? How much longer 'til the show goes south? How much longer 'til we all fall down? You rely on wit, and people die on it!" Eurylochus kept talking, clearly not done. "How much longer 'til the snake breaks free? How much longer 'til your great days cease? How much longer 'til your strength takes leave? You rely on wit, and people die on i!"

He turned towards the crew, addressing them and Eurylochus. "Thank you for the concern, but brother I can assure you our journey is almost done, I understand that we're tired, I understand that we're fazed but don't forget how much we've already faced. I took six hundred men to war and not one of them died there, in case you needed a reminder." He turned away from the crew and back to Eurylochus. "If you'd like to speak more, let me pull you . I need to talk to you in private"

He walked away, knowing that Eurylochus would follow and keep pressing at the matter at hand. He could feel Polites' gaze on him as he pulled Eurylochus into his quarters.

"I can't have you planting seeds of doubt, I can't have you disagreeing with each route. I need you to always be devout and comply with this or we'll all die in this, okay?" Odysseus grabbed him by the shoulders, barely just holding back from screaming in his face.

"Okay." Eurylochus took a step back, nodding hastily.

"Thank you." Odysseus took a deep breath before letting him leave. He stood in his quarters, alone, for a bit before leaving.
