Trying not to (and failing) stare at his ass, Odysseus watched as Polites eagerly stepped onto the island. His face shone in the sun, and his gaze was worth every hardship Odysseus had ever faced. He would sail down into the Underworld just to see Polites smile. Of course, he would do all that and more for Penelope, his loving wife.
Taking his hand and leading him ashore, Polites seemed unaware of how beautiful he was. His hands weren't as hardened as Odysseus' were from war; instead they held all the tenderness of a pacifist who preferred not killing.
"We'll be back before sunrise." Odysseus promised Eurylochus before allowing himself to be led further inland.
He could exist forever like this, hand in hand with Polites, surrounded by the tranquil forest. "You seem tense," Polites spoke, breaking the comfortable silence the two held. Gods, how he melted hearing the concerned voice of his best friend. "This war has ruined you, Ody." Grinning, Polites stepped closer to him, until the two were face to face.
Suddenly, the pacifist's hands are on his sword (how he wished they were touching his other sword) before flinging it away into the fruit-covered bushes. How blessed must Polites be to make fruit glow from his presence alone? Odysseus wondered idly. "Hey!" Odysseus yelled as he turned and ran, disappearing into the glowing bushes before laughing and chasing after him.
It doesn't take long for Odysseus to catch up to him; he had always been faster from Athena's training. Then he's tumbling onto him and the two are laughing together. They're nose to nose and Odysseus knows he's blushing furiously. Impulsively, he leans forwards.
Their lips touch and for a moment Odysseus lets himself forget about Penelope, Ithaca and the fleet. Only the gorgeous boy underneath him. Polites' lips are the sweetest nectar and the most addicting thing ever encountered. Greedily, he allows Polites to intertwine his hands with his hair, pulling him closer.
He's suddenly straddling Polites and desperately wishing he would just remove all his armour so he can see what's hidden underneath. He wished he could stay like this forever, lips against Polites and lose himself within the act of lust. Wandering lower, Polites' hand moved from his hair and down to his chest. Odysseus' breathing comes out in short gasps as his hand wanders further down still, slipping underneath his armour to tease him further.
His hands are on him and Odysseus can feel lust coiling in stomach, the need to be touched more by the ethereal man before him, the need to come undone within his hands alone. Pressing his lips against him, he needs more; needs to be grounded back to reality. "Polites.." the words are barely more than a whimper of desire.
"Welcome!" A chorus of voices surrounded them. Small, furry and purple-coloured with flowers growing out of their heads. The creatures begin to step towards them. Within moments, Odysseus is up on his feet, pulling Polites' sword out (his actual sword not the one he wished his mouth was wrapped around) hoping the creatures don't approach them any more. "Stay back, I'm warning you!"
He can feel Polites' gaze on him. Faintly, he can hear the pacifist trying to tell him to be kind and greet the creatures with open arms but he isn't paying attention. Not when Polites (and his crew; he had to remind himself) could be in danger. "We're only here for food," he spoke, holding all the authority of a king and captain.
"Here you go!" the creatures chirped, mouths that were dripping with a glowing liquid twisted into a smile. "See?" He could hear the delight in Polites' voice. Baskets of fruit, mostly a glowing, purple one were passed towards them and Odysseus, alongside his sword. Slightly disappointed at having to give it up, Odysseus gave Polites his sword back and took his own from the creatures.
Raising the fruit to his lips, Polites prepared to take a bite. Now that he was thinking about it, the fruit reminded him of lotus, a purple, glowing fruit that seemed to only exist in stories that could control minds and immobilise. "Don't eat that! It's lotus!" Lunging, he knocked the lotus out of Polites' hands; watching it fall to the floor.
Too late. He was too late. A single bite had been taken out of the lotus. Odysseus wanted to scream, cry and even punch something. Throughout all of his life, Polites had been there; his ray of sunshine in an otherwise dreary life.
"Lotus eaters!" Polites called out and the creatures turned to listen, watching him intently. "Can you tell me where's other food to eat?" Thankfully, he seemed fine and Odysseus wiped the juice that had trickled out of his mouth. He'd look perfect with Odysseus' juice over his face. He forced those thoughts away, trying to think of Penelope.
"The cave!!!!1 :3" the lotus eaters pointed east towards a second island; one much more barren with no trees or bushes. Polites thanked them and Odysseus grabbed his hand to lead him away and back to the fleet.
