Chapter 15 - Bailey & Jamie
"It's the last day of the bet." Cole said jumping into my car.
"Yup and I'm about to win." I said, smiling as I hit the gas.
I have to ask her today. I was going over and over it in my head, word by word of how I was going to ask her. Walking in, I can see her chatting away with Lucy. Then I see Carlos walk up to them. I literally stopped walking. Is he's he about to tell her? If so he didn't even think about giving me a chance I mean; it’s only been a few days. But I had to ask her I have to win this bet because if I don’t I’ll have to... I was cut from my thoughts when someone walked right into me.
"Man, watch it." I said to the guy who had just walked into me.
I look up and I can see Jamie glaring at some guy. And for a second I thought Jamie was going to punch him. He looked over towards me and a smile, grows upon his face. I waved at him, then turned back to Carlos and Lucy. They looked to see who I was waving at. I can hear Lucy let out a deep breath.
"What?" I asked.
I see her look at Carlos but when I look at him he just smiled.
"What?" I asked again.
"Nothing." Lucy said. "Better head to class." She adds.
I walked into the lunch room. I was about to head over to where I use to sit with my sister because I was not in the mood to deal with Carlos. But I need to try and show him that I do like Bailey that she's not just a bet.
"Hey!" Bailey said as a seat next to her.
"Hi." I looked around until my eyes meet Carlos.
He just glared at me. My eyes meet Lucy's she gave me the death glare. I jumped when I felt Bailey bump me with her elbow.
"You okay?"
"Yea.'" I said then kissed her on the cheek quickly.
Rest of the lunch I didn't say much. My mind kept going back to when I was going to ask Bailey to be my girlfriend. I couldn’t help but think how off Jamie was at lunch. He had to of had something on his mind; but what? Waiting outside of the girl's room for Lucy as she was taking quite a long time to change; when someone tapped me. Turning around I'm surprised to see Jamie standing there.
"Hi?" I question him.
He looks a little shy. This is a side I have never seen, maybe no one has ever seen.
"Can I ask you something?" He said.
"Well, didn't you just ask me something by asking if you can?" I said.
For a moment he looked puzzled. He just gave me a look.
"Sure, ask away." I smile at him.
"Bailey, would you be my girlfriend?" He said.
It didn't take long to know what I was going to say.
"No." He opened and shut his mouth.
"Why?" He asked; still a little shocked.
I know I have to be like one of the first one to say no to him.
"Because I don't trust you." I said not sugar coating it one bit.
"Please, just one day."
"I'll think about it."
"Please!" He bagged.
"You know the more you bag the less cute, I think you are." I just looked at her.
I can't believe she said no. No one has hardy ever said no to Jamie; let alone someone who thought I was cute.
"Like I said, I'll think about it." I said walking into the girl’s room.
"Bailey." I could hear Jamie as the door shut.
"What did he want?" Lucy asked while she was putting her shoes on.
"He asked me to be his girlfriend." I said in a flat statement.
"What?" She looked at me.
"What did you say?" I told him the truth.
"I have to think about it."
"You're joking, right?" She was more upset than I thought she'd be.
"I mean, I know I shouldn't but what's the harm of being his girlfriend for like two days?" I said.
She rolled her eyes and walked off.
"Lucy!" I called over and over. But she walked away like she could hear a thing.
