Chapter 17 – Jamie and Bailey
I walk into the party and my first thought was to find Bailey so I could ask her one more time before Cole could get hold of me. As far as I could tell she hasn't been here yet. I was doing all I could to stay unnoticed by Cole. Intel, Bailey showed up. I was hiding by the stairs when I saw her walk in. At first I thought she had showed up by herself but then I could see Lucy and Carlos behind her a bit. The party was getting crowded, fast. I pushed my way over to her.
"Hey, guys." I said.
"Hi." Lucy and Carlos spat at me.
"Hey!" Bailey said all smiles. I leaded in and whispered in her ear.
"Did you think about it?"
"Yeah." Said started to say "and I need more time to think."
She pulled away and walked away before I could say anything more. Lucy told me to wait a few more days and think about it. There was a part of me who believe she knew something that I didn't. But I'm doing what she said.
I'll wait a few days then give Jamie my answer. Witch I am still unsure of what it is. There's a part of me that may be falling for him. Well on the other hand they're a huge part saying run away as fast as you can. I pick up a red cup and smell it, there's a mix of different stuff in there. I wrinkle up my nose and place it back on the table.
"I wouldn't drink that." A voice from behind me said. I turned around to see Chase standing there.
"I could tell that by just one smell." He and the girl next to him chucked.
Then I realized it was Brigitte, from the ice-cream shop.
"Brigitte, right?"
"Yeah." She smiled at me.
"We should dance." I said out load when I didn’t mean to but I can see Carlos and Lucy dancing and it looks like fun.
"We should." said Chase grabbing mine and Brigitte's hand, pulling us to the crowd.
"No, no!" Brigitte repeated over and over.
"Come on." I said, looping our free hands together.
Three songs later and we all were still dancing. It looks and felt like it was going to be a good night. Back where I lived before I never when to parties because they always ends bad. This might be the first party I actually enjoy the whole party. I can see Bailey dancing with Chase and Brigitte and all I can do is glare at them. I have put down three red cups and still I can think clear as a blue sky in July.
"Jamie, my man!" Cole said. I roll my eyes before spinning around to face him.
