Chapter 18 - Bailey and Brigitte

"Sister?" I said looking at her. She looked at me then at Jamie. Then she must have realized what she just did.

Great now my dad is really going to kill me. I mean, I just told Bailey that she was my sister. I ran my fingers through my hair.

"Will you all stop staring at me?" I said my eyes dash over to Bailey. I have no clue what to do or say.

'Well, I guess I cloud take off running; head to Mexico. Yeah, like your going to run all the way there.' I think to myself.

Was Brigitte telling the truth? If she was my sister then that means we have the same father. I look at her a little more. We do kind look alike. My eyes dash around to the others. By now it was becoming odd. I need to say something.

"Jamie, you better be glad Brigitte punch you rather then me; I wouldn’t have stop after just one." Then I walked off.

I could hear footsteps following; too many to count but I was hoping with all my might that Jamie wasn't one of them.

"Are you just going to walk home?" Lucy asked.

"I was going to stay with you but clearly I can't trust you or Carlos."

"We..." She was cut off.

"I told her not to tell you." Carlos said.

"Why?" I yelled at him. I was now hurt and upset. These guys were to be my friends, ones I could count on.

"I was giving him a change to make it right."

"'But its Jamie' as you guys put it. You guys were all on me for giving him a chance then I find you two knew about a bet."

"Bailey." Chase took a step to me.

"Don't! For all I know you could have been a part of it to or known about it, you are dating his sister."

I looked at Brigitte, seeing if she was going to say anything.

"I just found out that you are my sister, I was trying to find the right way to tell you."

I wasn’t sure what to say. "I need to think."

I walked off. But I could still hear foot steps. But this time there was fewer. I didn't look back I just kept walking until a found an open coffee shop.

“Are you okay?” Brigitte asked.

“Well, lets just see, I found out that I was just a bet and sadly I was falling for the stupid guy. My friends were lying and hiding things from me. On top of that I have a sister, a sister. Witch means that he did want kids, so it has to be me, me as a person is why I grow up with out a father.”

“Listen, its not you, it’s him. Believe me he doesn’t have the best track record on being a dad.” Brigitte said.

I still don’t understand anything that was happening. It just seems to be too much.

“You have to believe me I didn’t know about the bet; if I did I would have told you.” Chase said. I stared right in his eyes and I believed him but still was mad at the world.

“Fine.” I could see him smile.

I feel like asking Brigitte how she knew that I was her sister and who my father is. For all I know she might be creating this all up. I can’t deal with this on top of Jamie. For rest of the night I didn’t say a word, after I drink a small cup of green tea, they gave me a ride home.

The weekend flashed before I could even way out my thoughts. On Monday morning I stayed in bed longer then I should. I have had my phone off all weekend and stayed locked away in my room. A plus was that my aunt was away too.

I toss on a random outfit be for heading out of the door and with my luck; Brigitte, Lucy, Carlos, and Chase was all waiting outside on the front stairs. I didn’t want to see any of them, not even Chase with he perfect sideways smile. I held my head high and walked pass all of them with out a single look or word.

I was like that all morning, and then lunch can. I sat at a table by myself when someone place there food and plopped right in front of me.

“Bailey, listen I’m going to tell you how I found out that you’re my sister. Mainly because I think you need to know and I think there’s a part of you that’s not going to full believe me until I do tell you.”

Bailey nodded her head and I started my story. I went over how I over heard my father on the phone, how he did try to reach out but it was only to help with money. Also, about my two weeks off from school I skipped but the whole time I managed to keep out where he works and who he is.

“Why should I believe you?” I asked.

“You are the only new student her in the last past few weeks plus your name is Bailey Carter.” She stated.

“Fine, suppose I do believe. What now?” She thought about it.

“Sense you’re still unsure; why don’t you ask your mom?”

“I have several times, it’s the same everything; ‘He didn’t want a family’.” I said.

“It might help if you have his name.”

“What it’s his name? It’s not on my birth paper or anywhere. I have looked.”

“Jeff Even.” ‘Wow what a name, so boring.’ I thought to myself.

“Wait, it’s our headmasters name…” I shook my head yes.

Our father is the headmaster of this school. She pulled out her phone and walked off as I knew I would not want to be the person on the other end of that phone call.
