Chapter 25 - Brigitte and Jamie

It was the day before opening night. And the school let us have the day off. We are to be getting prepped; but come on who really would.

We, Bailey, Lucy and I, have gathered in Bailey's bathroom. To try on the dresses I have touched up. -Music, stage work and costumes are my passion.- I took a theme of dots; the tops was tight but the bottom was laced under, flowed and a little puffy; ending right around our knees.

Lucy's was black with hot pink-purple dots with a black belt. Bailey was black with with red dots and a red belt. As for mine, it was white with black dots and a black belt.

Their was a small part of me disappointed that I wouldn't have a mom or dad gushing over how nice I looked; as my father would leave for the dance hours before I would and my mom wouldn't be here.

Speaking of my father, I haven't really spoken to him in weeks. The whole fight thing between us has made being at home and school hard and awkward.

But I do now have Bailey and Lucy. We have became really close over the last weeks. I couldn't be more happy that Chase is back in my life too; and away from that trouble group.

"Brigitte theses are amazing!" Said Lucy.

"No, you look amazing." Bailey said to me.

I'm not the girly girl. But I must say its nice hear it from someone who I believe really cares about me. It's going to suck not having her around this summer.

"So, I was thinking, you guys are more then welcome to come to my place to get ready; if you want?" Said Lucy.

"Sounds good to me, I really don't want to get ready in a empty house." I said.

"Can my aunt come? She wants photos." Bailey asked.

"The Annabel Bridge in my house?" Lucy asked.

"Yes?" She replayed but I came out as a question.

I tried not to giggle. They we so cute together.

"Yes, she may come." Lucy said. Then looked like she was thinking.

"Bailey honey, there's a young man here for you." Said Bailey's aunt.

"Aaa, Chase can't see you guys in your dress." Lucy started to freak.

"Either of you!" Lucy added.

"Well, it's a good thing I'm not him." Said a voice from the door. We all looked to the door to see Jamie standing there.

All three girls looked at me.

"Jamie?" Bailey said.

"Sorry didn't know you were having a girls day." I said.

I took a few steps into her room.

Her room was much cleaner then what I thought it would be. Not saying I do a lot of thinking about her... Who I'm kidding I still have feelings for her.

She looks amazing in her black and red dress but I'm not going to say anything...yet.

"I just wanted to give you this." I said holding out a little blue box.

"Come on." Bailey said as she took the box.

Walking past me and down the hall. She sat on the steps and I sat next to her.

"Jamie, what's this?" She said.

"Just a little peace offering." I said.

Witch was the truth. I want to be at less friends with her. We can't be more because I blow that only shot so friends; that's what I'll settle for.

I watched her as she opened it. She pulled out the bracelet.

It was silver but when the light hit it it shined different colors. She smiled a little.

"Do you like it?" I asked.

"Yes, but I can't..." She started.

"Yes, it's to show that I want to be friends and I'm sorry."

"Okay, we can be friends but that mostly all we'll ever be." She said.

"Save me a dance?" I asked.

"I'll see." Bailey said getting up.

She stared walking off but then she faced me.

"Thank you." She said.

I got up and left.

Walking into my house I can hear giggling coming from Sophie's room. I knocked on the door.

"Yea?" Sophie said.

"It's me." I said.

"Come in." She said.

She was in her dress too. It seems like every girl had the same thought today.

Her dress was solid black, with a little bow on the side. It was had a little collar and the back was open. To me it didn't really look 60's that much.

"You look nice." I said.

"Thanks."

She really didn't act like she wanted me there.

"Like this?" Said a voice.

Looking over I see Brooklyn. She had on her dress to. It was pink, with a black bow for a belt, and had white underneath. She looked amazing.

"Wow." I said. Part of my was smacking myself in the face for saying that out loud.

"Really?" Brooklyn said.

"Yeah, you look great." I smiled at her.

Someone cleared their voice; it was Sophie.

"Well, I better get going meeting Bailey for one last line run thought here in a few hours." I said.

"Why are you leaving now?" Asked Brooklyn.

"He has to make sure he looks good." Sophie said giggling to herself.

"No, I have my suit fitting too." I snapped back.

"Bye, Brooklyn." I said and smiled at her.

Then glaring at my sister and left. I swear my parents should of named her drama, some of the other, not so friendly, words I'm thinking of.

Walking up to the stage I can see Bailey already waiting for me. She was looking down at her hands; as I go closed I could see the gift I gave her this morning.

"Hey." I said.

She jumped a little.

"You scared me." Bailey said.

"Sorry didn't mean to."

"You've been saying that a lately." She said.

"I have and I've meant it every time." I said.

"Jamie?" Bailey said.

"Yes?"

"Can we just get on with running lines, please." Bailey asked.

We ran lines over and over. There are some kissing senses but went haven't actually kissed. I said I think we should at less once before we our in front of live people. But Bailey won't, so if we mess up its because of her.

"I have to go." Bailey said.

She hardly said a word to me; only, the lines. I tried to joke around with her, make her smile but either A, her mind was somewhere else or B, she just still can't stand me.

I watch as she go up to leave.

I reached out grabbed her hand, pulled her towards me. Before she could say any thing I kissed her.

She just slowly pulled a way and walked away with out a word.

I didn't go after her. She didn't care about me, that I now knew. My eyes burned as I was hoping she would have said something; anything.
