Siya didn't think anything worse than what happened last night could happen. Alas, God took it as a challenge and did, in fact, made her face something so terrifying that it left her waking up in the middle of the night, shaking with fear and anxiety.
Siya had just finished her shift for the day, and was heading back home when she received a call from an unknown number.
When the number kept calling her even after nit receiving it twice, she picked it up nervously.
Anything odd was setting her off for the last twenty four hours.
"...".
'...hello?" Siya's voice was low, a hint if doubt lingering at it's edge.
"Finally you picked up," a deep, grumbling voice said from the other end of the call.
She didn't recognise the voice.
"Who is it?"
"You don't need to know that," was what she heard from the unknown person.
"Oh yeah?" Siya scoffed, raising her eyebrow, her incredulity increasing by the second.
There was no answer.
"What kind of joke is this? I am busy," Siya retorted, and was just about to disconnect when the man finally decided to speak up, catching her off guard.
"I am watching you".
Siya stilled, her finger hovering over the disconnect icon on the screen.
"....what?"
The call disconnected.
Siya immediately called back.
"The number you're calling is currently unavailable..."
"What the hell?" Siya could not believe this, what in the world was happening?
How did the number stop existing in just a second?
Who was that man and what the fuck did he mean by "I'm watching you"?
There were so many questions running through her mind and she was getting desperate for answers.
She suddenly broke into a cold sweat. She whirled around, looking around wildly. There was an unknown feeling bubbling in the pit of her stomach.
Something was wrong but she was not sure what.
She broke into a run, not knowing where she was going but knew one thing.
She needed to get the fuck away from that place.
She could not ignore the feeling of someone watching her.
Especially after that phone call.
Her heart was beating fast, her mind running through numerous scenarios on who the unknown caller was, but no matter how hard she thought, she could not quite place her finger upon it.
She looked back, feeling eerie.
"Ooff!"
Siya exclaimed in surprise as she collided against a hard chest, tripping on her feet and she closed her eyes, ready to hit the ground.
But the impact for which she was waiting never came. Instead, she felt a rough hand grabbing her wrist.
Siya opened her eyes, and they met with those cold grey ones she repulsed so much.
Before she could react other than widening her eyes in surprise he had pulled her towards him, still holding her wrist tightly, and steadied her against his chest.
Siya had her eyes closed, breathing hard. So much had happened in such a short span of time.
She seemed to have forgotten where she was, burying her face into Rudraksh's chest.
Since she had her face buried in his chest, she missed the look that graced his face.
He hadn't expected to see her suddenly like this. Much less running like a mad woman in the middle of the street one minute and burying her face in his chest the next moment.
He felt his face burning, and an unknown warm feeling descending upon his chest. His heart rate increased to match that of hers.
He didn't dare utter a word, afraid to break whatever trance he had found himself in.
Siya gradually felt her panic subside and regained her breath. She opened her eyes, suddenly remembering where she was and most importantly, whose arms she was in.
She gasped in shock and pushed Rudraksh hard on the chest but he still didn't let go of her hand.
"Let go of my hand!" Siya snarled.
Rudraksh frowned and noticed that his hand was still holding her wrist. He seemed to just have noticed that he had not let go of her yet. Not that he minded. But she certainly did, judging by her upset expression.
Grudgingly, he let go of her hand.
"What are you doing?" Siya screamed, jabbing him in the chest.
"What am I doing?" Rudraksh asked, confused.
"You, you're following me!" Siya accused him.
"No, I'm not".
"Yes you're! Explain what you're doing here otherwise?" she demanded.
"I was taking a stroll".
"Good excuse," she scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"I can't help it if you don't believe me, madame", Rudraksh snapped, irritated.
Siya looked at him.
"You act prettily casually for someone who murdered a man just last night," she said in a low voice.
At this, he laughed. She gaped at his shamelessness.
"It's not so uncommon for me," he admitted.
She shook her head in disgust and turned to leave.
He grabbed her wrist again and pulled her towards him.
"What the-" Siya began angrily.
"Jitna dur jayengi aap, utna hi kareeb payengi aap mujhe," he said in a deep voice.
[The further you try to go from me, the closer you are going to find me to yourself]
Siya gasped, speechless. He let go of her hand, a slight smirk on his lips, and left, just as suddenly he had appeared.

A/N: Sooooo, how long has it been? One month? Two? I don't even remember the last time I updated but guess I am alive after all lol.
I'll try to update soon, but it all honestly depends on my interest. I had lost interest in writing this story as I wasn't motivated enough, but it's back again.
I'll try to be more consistent. But no promises.
