Chapter 17

Dérion POV

After I dropped C.B. off at the airport I decided to drive to moms house I haven't seen her in what feels like years. I need to talk to her about me and Brooklyn because I just don't know what to do.

I think I'm in love with the girl but I'm not sure if the feelings mutual or if I'm rushing but she just does some unexplainable things to me.

Her laugh, her smile, her walk, her talk, the way she bites her bottom lip whenever she's nervous.

I just don't understand this love shit and I thought I was done until she came along.

I pull up in my moms driveway and turn the engine off. I hop out the car and use my key to open the door.

"Mom" I got nothing so I started looking for her.

"Mom where you at!"

"Upstairs!!" I jogged up the stairs and there she was laying in bed.

"Hey, mom" I kissed her on the cheek and laid down next to her.

"Hey baby, where have you been?"

"A lil preoccupied"

"Ou twó okipe pou vin wè manman" (You too preoccupied to come see your momma)!... mhmm what's her name?"

"Ma what?!?" I said acting confused. She pinched me. "Oww!"

"You heard me now what's her name?"

"Alright mom damn" I said rubbing my arm where she pinched me. "Her name is Brooklyn. I met her at the library and we just been speaking ever since. She so amazing ma it's like she showing me a side to females I thought died a while back. We're not sleeping together or anything but she does stay at the house" she smiles at me and rubs my cheek.

"It sounds like your in love baby and she staying at the house??! Your cousins barely allowed at your house and you have her living in there" she start laughing "O yea you got it bad"

"But mom that's what I'm afraid of you remember what happen with Denise"

"Baby you can't keep living your life off what happened with Denise. I told you not to fall in love with that hoe I knew already when you brought her fast ass to my door I instantly wanted her out." I rolled my eyes, she always wanna say she told me so.

"But don't let that situation ruin your happiness. When someone does something unexplainable to you that you can't describe that means that anyone that comes around no matter how fine or attractive will never give you that same feeling. So follow your heart son. If you want her, get her and don't let go."

"But ma what if she don't feel the same way?"

"How will you know how she feel if you don't tell her how you feel, she's probably just as scared as you are." I nodded my head. Thats when I felt my phone started vibrating I look at it and saw it was Brooklyn. She probably wondering when I'm coming back.

"Aight mom I'm going to head out" I kiss her on the cheek and start heading toward the door.

"Oh and Dérion you better bring her to meet me soon or I'm stopping by your house" I start laughing.

"Yes mame"

I walk out the door and enter my car. Brooklyn called again and I answered.

"I'll be there soon baby" I didn't hear anything but faint sniffling.

"Hello" she still didn't say anything and the sniffles got louder. I knew something was wrong

"Brooklyn baby speak to me!" I screamed pressing on the gas.

"Dérion, th-they came to the ho-house. They al-almost seen me"

"Baby who!!" I screamed on the phone panicking. That caused me to press harder on the gas. She just kept sniffling.

"Brooklyn where are you??"

"Hiding in th-the closet in my room" she whispered still sniffling.

"Baby they still there?!"

"No,"

"I'll be there in five minutes" I started speeding threw the highway. Im glad I only lived 30 minutes from mom. The way I was passing lights I got there in 10. I ran out my car and seen my door was slightly opened.

I took out my gun and slowly entered my house. I looked everywhere and didn't see no one so I ran upstairs as quiet as I could.

I checked everywhere and saved Brooklyn's room for last. When i realized nobody was in the house I ran to Brooklyn's room.

"Brooklyn...Brooklyn!"

"Dérion" she pulled open the closed door and ran into my arms, sobbing a little. I put her face in my hands and check to see if she wasn't hurt.

"You ok," I said holding her tightly.

"No Dérion it was 3 of them one of the voices I recognized. When Battle was trying to kill me he called someone after and he told him too finish me off! That was him!!"

"Alright baby take a breather for me I want you to go pack some of your clothes and things you may need we not staying here tonight, ok?" she nodded her head and I kissed her on her forehead.

I stepped out the room and walked downstairs. They tore my shit up its slashes all over my couch, they broke my table, knocked my shit over. Then babygirl had to see that, Damn! This shit making me mad I need to find out who these niggas are.

I take out my phone and call Day.

"Yo"

"I gotta get a hotel they broke into my house, dawg"

"What?!"

"Yea bruh fucked all my shit up man we need to get to the bottom of this and Brooklyn was here she had to hide or they would see her"

"She okay?" "Yea just shaken up"

"Damn, don't leave her at a hotel by her self bring her here she can stay with Cali just to be on the safe side"

"Aight I'm coming"

"Yea" I hung up and looked around my living room... Damn.

Brooklyn POV

"Aight ma tell us everything that happened, starting from the beginning"

It was Me, Dérion, Cali, Korday, Tyrell, Sin and Mondo all gathered in Cali's living room.

I took a deep breath "Ok so a few weeks back Battle came to visit me dropping a letter off from my mom, he gave it to me then I told him to get out my uncle shit. Then 3 weeks ago I was sleeping in front of the big Wal-Mart on Powerline, all I felt was someone put a bag over my head and I was pulled out my car. I pulled the bag apart and the person started hitting me, I turned my head and saw the eye patch so I knew it was him" I choked up a bit.

"I was screaming for someone to help but no one came. I figured I was going to die so I just stop fighting. When he thought I was good as dead he called someone on the phone and put them on speaker because he was trying to take his dose of herion and he couldn't juggle the two. The man screamed into the phone what are you waiting on kill her. That's all I remember." I wiped the tears that fell out my eyes.

"This morning they were looking for both me and Dérion to kill but they made a error and seen the car infront thinking you were home. Then there boss busted in and started screaming orders, it was him the same man on the phone was him." I said wiping the tears from my eyes.
