ZADE
Two days later, I finally had her all to myself. It had felt like an eternity, waiting for this moment. Elena had been stolen away repeatedly—by her friends, who whisked her off on impromptu adventures, and by my mom, who loved to catch up with her and draw her into endless conversations. It was like everyone around us conspired to keep us apart, and my patience had worn thin.
Now, though, she was mine, and the house had finally settled into silence. We stood in our bedroom, and she looked up at me with that smile that always made my heart race. The dim light softened her features, her hair loose and spilling over her shoulders, and I couldn't help but admire how breathtaking she looked.
I stepped closer, drawing her into my arms, savoring the way she fit so perfectly against me. "Finally," I murmured, pressing my lips to her temple. "I thought I'd have to fight everyone off just to get a few minutes with you."
She laughed, a sound that made my chest tighten with happiness. "They mean well," she said, though there was a playful sparkle in her eyes. "But I've missed you too."
I tilted her chin up, our eyes locking. "You have no idea," I whispered, letting my thumb trace the curve of her jaw. "I've been counting down the minutes."
Her arms wrapped around my neck, pulling me even closer, and I could feel the tension of the past days melt away. It was just the two of us now, no interruptions, no distractions. And I intended to savor every second.
I pressed my lips gently against her neck, letting my words hum against her skin. "Do you have any idea how hard I got when you bent down to pick up your hair clip with that tiny little pencil skirt?" I murmured, my hands slipping to her waist, pulling her even closer.
Elena gasped, a blush creeping up her neck, and she leaned back slightly to meet my gaze. Her eyes were wide, playful yet vulnerable, and the way she bit her lower lip only made the tension between us build. "You noticed that, huh?" she whispered, her voice teasing, but I could hear the slight hitch in her breath.
I let out a low chuckle, my hands sliding over her hips. "Noticed? I couldn't think straight for the rest of the day," I admitted, brushing my lips against the spot just below her ear. "You know exactly what you do to me."
Her fingers twisted into my hair, her body arching just enough to brush against mine. We had waited too long for this—every second apart making the anticipation almost unbearable. Now, with her here, I was going to make every moment count.
"Well, did I look good?" she asked, a teasing pout forming on her lips. "Did my ass look good?"
Her playful words made a grin spread across my face, and I pulled back slightly to look at her, the teasing lilt in her voice making my pulse quicken. She tilted her head, eyebrows raised in challenge, and there was that mischievous sparkle in her eyes that always drove me wild.
I laughed, low and deep, the sound vibrating in my chest. "You really need to ask me that?" My hands found their way to her hips, and I slowly ran them down to her backside, giving her a light squeeze that made her gasp and giggle. "You looked incredible, Elena. Every single guy who walked by must've been staring, and I don't blame them. But I was ready to knock anyone out if they dared to think you were anything but mine."
Her laughter bubbled up again, and she shifted, pressing her body against me. "Mmm, possessive, are we?" she whispered, her lips brushing dangerously close to mine. "You must've been distracted all day."
"Distracted doesn't even cover it," I murmured, trailing my fingertips along the hem of her shirt. "I had to grit my teeth and force myself to focus, but every time I closed my eyes, I kept seeing you in that skirt. The way it hugged you in all the right places..." I let my voice trail off, knowing she could hear the hunger in my tone.
