(Sophie's POV)
"Keefe?" I whispered. I nudged his bedroom door open and stepped inside. He was sleeping peacefully on his bed, and I silently noticed that he wasn't wearing a shirt.
I blushed.
Keefe's eyes popped open, feeling my emotions. He scrambled for his shirt and pulled it over his head. I giggled. He blushed, mussing his hair.
"I didn't know you were coming." He mumbled.
"Yeah, I just came to check on you." I said quietly, rubbing my fingers across my engagement ring.
He followed my gaze and smirked weakly, like he was pained. "How's Fitz?"
I sat up in bed.
Just a dream.
I glanced at Keefe next to me. Still drooling on his pillow. Then his eyes snapped open, just like in my dream. His beautiful blue eyes focused on me.
"Dreaming about me?" He teased.
"No." I lied.
He sighed and shook his head. "It's like you forget I'm an Empath."
"Okay, maybe I did. But-"
"Yeah, and that's all that matters." He decided. He hopped out of bed and walked around the other side, positioning himself in front of me.
He insisted on carrying me every morning. I don't know why, but I'm not complaining. I hopped on his back and couldn't help smiling when he told me about yesterday's day at work. When your husband is piggy back riding you, it's hard not to smile.
By the way, his job was riding the new baby alicorns to train them and teach them how to fly. Silveny and Greyfell had another set of two boys, named Bolt and Dash because of how fast they were. They were also really hard to control, but Keefe was a master at it. Oh, and my job? I was now an Emissary, along with Biana, Dex, and Linh. The rest thought Emissary work was disappointing.
"Awww, look at Iggy!" I squealed. Iggy was hiding in Keefe's Batman slippers. He rolled his eyes and put me down.
"Iggy, I told you to stop sleeping in my slippers! It's weird!" Keefe complained. Keefe rubbed behind Iggy's ears and Iggy let out a burp before fluttering away.
"Blitzenberry muffins or cinacreme?" I asked.
"Both!" Keefe exclaimed.
"Absolutely not. Pick one."
"Fine. Muffins."
"Was that so hard?" I teased.
"Yes."
I rolled my eyes.
So I got to baking the muffins. When they were done, I fed some to Iggy, and left the rest for me and Keefe.
I found Keefe on the floor of our bedroom, drawing contendedly. He was humming "Cruel Summer" by Taylor Swift.
"Since when do you know human music?" I asked with a smile.
"Since Dex gave me an iPod." He replied.
"He did?"
Keefe nodded and pointed to the iPod on our desk. I smiled. "What else does it have on there?"
"Lots of stuff. Who knew humans were good at music making?"
"Me." I replied. I grabbed the iPod and found the wedding march. I played it out loud.
"Wait... You played that at our wedding, right?"
"Obviously." I replied. He smirked.
"My girl just keeps getting snarkier and snarkier." He teased. I blushed.
"You're a bad influence." I muttered.
"Yeah, probably." He smirked like he had an idea and went on his knees. "Fix me, Foster, you're my only hope." I stared down at his puppy eyes with amusement.
"Are you seriously using the same line ten years later?" I teased.
"Hey, if it worked the first time, I might as well keep saying it."
That made me smile even more.
I made him stand up and told him to come meet me outside. I found Silveny out there, with Luna and Wynn playing in the grass with each other. Bolt and Dash had to stay in the Sanctuary because they couldn't fly yet, so they couldn't get away if someone tried to capture them.
Silveny glowed with happiness. FRIEND! SOPHIE! KEEFE! LUNA! WYNN! HAPPY!
I was bombarded with a hundred other words, rubbing my temples as a headache started to form. I suddenly felt lightheaded, and before I knew it, I was falling towards the ground. A pair of strong arms caught me. I looked up to see Keefe's beautiful ice blue eyes gleaming with love and concern, glittering with the sunlight.
I blushed. "Sorry."
"Don't be. It makes it easier to make you blush."
I blushed harder. "Don't you have to head to work?"
"Not without a kiss." He puckered his lips and leaned forward, and I smirked with amusement as I leaned away. (A/N: Basically the most popular piece of Sokeefe art ever)
"Nuh uh." I fixed his shirt and messed with his hair a little bit, and after some protesting, I realized how handsome he looked. I tried not to blush but he definitely noticed my emotions.
"Okay, now you're ready." I decided.
"For what?"
I shut him up with a kiss.
*EEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK YASSSS
