ANAKINShe doesn't talk the rest of the way. Thank Blade. Otherwise, I might have taken my own dagger to my own throat with little to no remorse for anyone involved. Maybe that's what she needs. Her innocence needs to be torn from her the way mine was. She doesn't need to hide behind all this bullshit of purity and innocence. Isn't she aware of the cruel world we all live in?
I don't think she cares to think about it though and maybe to her the only life who matters is hers. Gods she is a fucking cunt. I hate her existence and everything she stands for. She doesn't know shit about anything and yet acts all high and mighty. She needs to be humbled sooner rather than later, preferably.
I clench my jaw at even just thinking about her. It brings that burning sensation that I just can't seem to analyze. I want to scream but have nowhere to do so. Clenching my body and letting it all release seems to be the best option. It is actually helping, I don't even care how it looks.
The Alakar Inn is like a beacon of hope. It is only two miles away and it is the only place for miles. The nymphs that run it are relatively nice. Oh, thank Gods.
I pick up my pace and without any hesitation she follows. Suddenly, a part of my brain wants to see how desperate she is to follow me. I pick up my pace until I am in an easy jog. We continue running even though the snow is coming up to her high calf. Our feet force pathways that any buffoon could follow if they really wanted to. It is a good thing we aren't being followed. It is just my luck that I am much taller than her, it makes it easier for me, and much harder for her. I can't bring myself to care. Pathetic.
She is a huffing, whistling, mess when we arrive at the doors. Her hair messed up by the wind is frozen against her sweaty cheeks. She looks as close to imperfect a risen can get. I almost smile at the sight.
"Did we have to run?"
I smooth my hand through my hair. "What's wrong, princess, did you get a little winded?"
She huffs out, "No, I could do that all day."
A smirk flits to my lips. "I am so sure you can."
I knock against the door as she smooths her hair back from her face. She pats at it until it rests neatly away from those sparkling orbs of hers. She blinks back watery eyes and I can not help the jolt of guilt that thrums through me. Guess, I am not as cruel as I thought.
No one answers my knock so I start banging on the door. Three minutes later and the door swings open. A young nymph with black hair looks aat me. "We are not accepting more guest, thank you."
All I have to do is mention Blade and the next thing we know, the nymph is placing a key into my hand to the biggest room you could possibly get in here.
