NERISSA

Knoxx's brunette looks dark paired with his green eyes that are similar to mine. He has his father's skin tone for sure. That golden brown that would make any woman weak at the knees. I am shocked I am holding it together so well.

"You're staring," Anakin says as we gather around the cliff that lay between us and the way down.

Knoxx had brought us some food and gods was it good and fresh. He even brought goat cheese and it is honestly the best goat cheese in all of the lands. I am sure of it because goats are from the mortal lands. There are no goats here.

"I'm enjoying the view. Is it wrong to stare, Anakin?" Anakin rolled his eyes at what I said before going back to eating.

"Yeah Anakin, you can't blame her when I look this exquisite, okay?" I watch as a smirk curls his lips and he flexes his muscles that could break every if not all the bones in my body currently.

"Yeah and unlike you he enjoys my presence, Grump."

"She's not wrong, she's a delight." Knoxx chuckles, "How much longer do you guys have?"

"Like five hours. We can't stop now, we gotta get going." Anakin says before quickly finishing.

"Well, come on guys." He holds his hand out and I, of course, take it.

"Why thank you, Knoxx. How kind of you."

Anakin clenches his jaw and his fists as he walks behind me and Knox. Why is he so jealous and closed off? Does he really hate me so much that he's made I am touching Knoxx? There is something I am missing and I need to pull him aside.

Knoxx puts out the fire with a harsh blow. "I don't want the plants to get hurt."

All this man has to blow on it. Blow to put a fire out.

"Do all of you guys have these powers?" I am honestly amazed. "I didn't know everyone had access to segments?"

"Does she not know?" He questions, pointing his index finger towards me.

"Know what?" I question.
"No, and I want to keep it that way. Nearly every fallen has power to their segments."

I cross my arms. "We're all the same species aren't we? I thought only special angels got that."

He lets out a breath. "Give me a break. You will never be one of us."

"Don't want to be, I just want a segment."

"How old are you?" Knoxx asks.

"One hundred and fifty."

Knoxx waves his hand. "You're right on time, you might get one."

"Has anyone ever had control of all four?" I wonder. "If they're so common, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case."

"No, that's a myth, no one can do that." Anakin mutters.

Knoxx nods, "Well, everyone except the Prodigy."

"Who is the Prodigy?"

Knoxx laughs like he can't believe I am asking this. "They tell you nothing in Lani, do they?"

"We have great education there."

"But you don't learn anything." Anakin says harshly. "They fill you with imaginary and nothing worth anything."

"We learned about how cruel you all are, so I guess we learn something."

"We're the cruel ones?" Anakin questions as if he can't believe his ears. "Fuck you, princess, my people suffers but we're the cruel ones?"

"Hard to see anything else when you have showed me exactly what all of Lani fears."

"What? That I am better than you? That I actually have a spine, that I don't let anyone walk over me like the doormat I am?" He spits. "Get it through your pretty little air filled head, Princess, your people are the villains. You all are the monsters everyone should be afraid of. Not mine."

I clench my jaw and fight back the pools of tears in my eyes as Anakin smirks. Knoxx looks at his friend in shock but I don't, I know who Anakin Kumar is, and he is nothing but cruel. Knoxx shoots a look at Anakin before he wraps a hand around me and pulls me alongside him.
