[This makes use of my post cannon of RQ, more with M and Light!! Also sorry I've been falling behind, lots of homework and not much motivation as well as bad mental health. But I got some stuff off my chest and I'm feeling a little better.]

[Light's POV]

I was getting ready for a very special event, it would be me and M. Professor Red apparently told M that some special comet would pass by, and she wanted to see it with me.

I had no idea what M considered us, but she was saying this was sort of like a 'date'.

I knew she specifically told us we weren't romantic, apparently we were platonic. I didn't mind, I gladly accepted the proposal. It was just.. Odd..

Anyways, I got to brushing my hair. I had a sort of jellyfish cut. I found my hair quite pretty! Once I was done, I pulled out a smaller brush, making sure to get all the fur that grew in odd places such as my shoulders and cheeks.

I had already done a multitude of other things. So all I had to do was get dressed. I felt more comfortable in my armor than anything else, so I just got that on and left my helmet.

It was already night now, honestly I was a little drowsy. M always took good care of me when I was a little sleepy during our time together. She was the one who forced me to sleep in the first place. It had been about three days since I last slept I think?

Rubbing my eyes, I got up. I grabbed my spear and walked outside. I then proceeded to teleport to the Red Kingdom, the comet would pass over that area.

Walking through, most people were already in the homes getting read to sleep. I was tired, but I wanted to see this through for M.

As I've mentioned, me and M only have each other..

I spotted M waiting by her house in a dress, she always wore dresses. They were beautiful for sure, and even prettier on her.

I walked over to her and she grinned. "Hai Light, excited?" She leaned her head on my shoulder.

I yawned, leaning back. "Yep, very excited."

M got off me, placing her hands on her hips and frowning. "You don't look or sound excited..!" M said, dramatizing the whole statement.

I rolled my eyes, following M when she began walking further through the kingdom. "I am, you know I'm just not one to show much overexcite, ent at most times."

M chuckled, taking my hand in hers. "Trust me, I know."

I gasped, playing into it. "What's that supposed to mean??!"

M laughed again. "I've been around you long enough to know how you are, you're very simple."

My jaw dropped. "I'm not simple! I- Well.. Maybe i am, but you can still say I'm not!" I said playfully, crossing my arms.

"Oh alright my bad, you are the most amazing and complex person ever Light. Totally didn't have their biology changed in a way where they are extremely logistic and simple minded." M said sarcastically, moving her head back and forth.

"Ooookayyy next topic! Where is the comet gonna be at- Well, I mean, where's the best place to view it at?" I asked as M pulled me along.

"There's this one place in the Red Kingdom specifically for events like this! Plenty of people with be there, but thankfully I already have an area I claimed for us." M said, adjusting her small crown that was stuck in her poofy mass of hair.

My nerves immediately kicked up and my fur stood on end. "I thought it would just be us..? I mean, no one knows about... Us.. Won't we be judged..?" I slumped over.

"Nah, many red steves are very accepting. And why should it matter? It's not like there's anything wrong with us. Besides, we're both people high in power, it's not like they can do anything about us." M said confidently, looking back at me and grinning. "So you coming?"

I looked down and noticed I had stopped moving. "Oh! Right right, sorry."

M began leading again.

We eventually got this this cleared out grassy area in the Kingdom. Red steves in groups, pairs, or just a singular one were everywhere; there were even a few other colors. Many were on blankets of sort.

Holding my hand still, M and I made out where through the clusters on groups on the ground to our own area. It was really pretty. The blanket on the ground was mostly a light red with white swirling through. There was a little basket as well.

M sat down and patted the space next to him. I sat down as well, trying to sit up and keep my posture as to not utterly embarrass myself in front of M and all these steves.

Apparently M wasn't gonna deal with that, so she wrapped her arms around me and got me to lay down; my head in her lap okayyyyyyyyy..

My face was burning right now, mostly from the embarrassment. My head was racing with the thoughts of others who saw and what they'd think.

Suddenly I felt lot calmer as M started slowly scratching behind my cat ears. Aaaa this feels so nice... Y'know, maybe I can stay like this, it's so nice..

"You hungry? I got us a bit of food to eat for before the comet passes by." M asked, still basically petting me.

"You know I don't eat much..." I said softly, nuzzling up against M a little further. I was angled to face kinda both the side and the sky.

"I know, that's why I only brought some bread!" M pulled out a little slight of bread, putting it in my hand and moving it towards my mouth. "I know you haven't eaten good in a while, you never do."

I sighed, giving in and eating it. Bread didn't taste too bad compared to other stuff. "What about you? Did you get anything for yourself?" I asked.

M looked down as me. "Light, you know the answer to that. Red Steves are carnivores. I'm not bringing a whole piece of beef in the picnic basket." He said flatly.

I made an 'O' shape with my mouth. "Right.. Sorry."

"Don't apologize, you didn't do anything wrong." M went back to giving me scritches. It felt so nice..

M angled me a little more so that I was facing upwards. "It's about to pass by!! More information by the way, since this one has been near our planet for so long, it's absorbed some energy of our world and should be multicolored! Isn't that neat?" M said excitedly, practically bouncing up and down where she sat.

"Mhm." I smiled.

A few minutes passed and nothing. Eventually though, it came.

The comet was beautiful. The center was normal, but the steak it staining the sky with was like a paintbrush to me; the sky was its canvas. It painted beautifully with every color I could possibly imagine.

This comet was so.. Nostalgic in a way... It brought me back to a much simpler time. One where I was too shy to go out much, and instead I'd stay home, away from the other crazy orange steves. I'd get out some paint and hum and gentle tune while making a piece or art that was probably way out of my skill range by now.

Once it was gone, the sky still had traces of multicolor in it. Huh, kinda like Sabre. It seemed like he had left in an instant. The impact he left on us was immeasurable though.

"Pretty huh?"

"Yeah..."

"I thought you'd think so."

"..Do you think I should take up painting again...?"

"Oh most definitely."
