Chromatober Day 9 - Arson

[This makes use of my RQ Garden AU during the Rainbow Kingdom arc. Uhhhhhhh Sabre was turned plant at the beginning of this arc sooo ye. Many people don't consider him a person.]

TW: People burning, not entirely accurate to the scene in RQ.

[Sabre's POV]

I was going back to my house after hanging out with Saffron for a bit. Je offered to walk me due to everything with the Corrected Sun, but I refused.

I really didn't need to come upon a Corrected Sun member terrorizing a poor indigo steve. I was told to stay away from all the fights due to my.. Fragile nature.. But I couldn't just walk away and do nothing!!

As the member started cornering the steve, I ran in between the two of them, sticking my arms out to the sides as blockage. I could feel the indigo Steve's confusion.

The Corrected Sun member scoffed. "Move out of the way tree, this isn't your business." He pointed his spear right at my throat.

I stared at him with the only look my face would allow, blank and unforgiving. The member lodged the spear further between the roots that made up my neck. It hurt, but since it was different than human pain, it was difficult to process.

The member seemed to get angrier. "I could saw off your head right now. So unless you want your pretty branches gone, move." I held my stance, shaking my head to further get the point across.

The Corrected Sun member pulled the spear back, causing me to stumble forward a bit. "Seems like you're too much of an idiot to get this.."

The indigo Steve ran as soon as the member brought up some fire that was somehow produced from the armor. He grabbed me and pulled me towards him, putting the fire where it was a little too close for comfort.

"I don't even care about that Steve anymore... You've pissed me off..." The Steve put the fire even closer, singeing my shoulder. The pain was excruciating.

I wanted to scream. To cry. To beg. To ask for help. To do anything, but I couldn't. This STUPID body doesn't allow me to speak. So it just looked like I didn't even care.

Stop it stop it stop it spot it stop it stop it. It burns it burns it burns it burns stop stop stop stop...

The fire got bigger, setting my shoulder ablaze slightly. The Corrected Sun member let me go, he did it even have to do anything anymore.

I desperately attempted to put the flame out, only spreading it to my hand. It was worse than anything I'd ever felt. This was worse then dying, worse then when I did die. At least that was quick..!

I fell to the ground as the fire spread a bit further, writhing in pain and my own screams that were at a level the Steve couldn't understand. "Don't act like it hurts.. Plants don't even feel pain! It's not that big of a deal!!" He crouched down and got in my face, I couldn't even focus on his laughs.

I couldn't even tell what was happening. All I know is the member stood, was attacked by a blur and pinned against a wall. The next thing I knew was that the flames on me were being put out by cold hands.

The cold hands felt so relieving on my burning roots, but there was still so much phantom pain. I could still feel every flame crawl and lick at my skin.

The cold hands picked me up and pressed me against their body, holding me in a hug. It felt so good. It felt like I was possibly going to be fine. No, I was fine. I wasn't on fire anymore. I was cold, it was soothing.

All I saw before whoever was holding me walked away, me still being help, was the Corrected Sun member being arrested. They took off his helmet.

It was a green steve...

Green steves can understand me.

He heard every one of my screams...

No idea why but I loved writing this!! It was so fun causing Sabre more pain :D I kill him for sport as well. YAYA IM CAUGHT UP annnnddd there's a hurricane coming today meaning I'm not gonna have Wi-Fi and I'll fall behind again.....
