Chapter 80: Three Years Later

Three years had passed, and life for Nicole and Devin had continued to grow and change in ways they never expected. Amani was now a confident, lively eight-year-old, thriving in school, and Mason had transformed into a curious, energetic three-year-old, always following in his big sister's footsteps.

The house was as lively as ever, filled with the sounds of laughter, running feet, and the occasional sibling squabble. Nicole and Devin had settled comfortably into their roles as parents, but the chaos of life with two growing children kept them on their toes.

Devin chimed in from the living room, where he was playing with Mason. "Just make sure you let us know when your first performance is. We'll be there in the front row."

Amani grinned, excited by the prospect. "Of course! I'll be the best one there."

Nicole chuckled, loving the confidence in her daughter's voice. Amani had always been independent and strong-willed, but now she was channeling those qualities into her passions, and Nicole was eager to see where they'd take her.

One afternoon, while Amani was at school, Mason was busy building a tower with his blocks in the living room. Nicole sat nearby, watching him as he concentrated, his little face scrunched up in focus.

"Look, Mama! I did it!" Mason exclaimed proudly as his tower stood tall.

Nicole smiled, clapping for him. "Good job, baby! You're getting so good at that."

Mason beamed, running over to give Nicole a big hug before going back to his blocks. His personality was starting to shine more and more each day—playful, loving, and always eager to learn.

Devin, who had come in from the garage, watched the scene unfold with a smile. "Little man's got skills, huh?"

Nicole nodded, her heart full. "Yeah, he's growing so fast. I still can't believe he's already three."

Devin shook his head, grinning. "Time's flying, but we're doing alright."

Nicole and Devin: Stronger Than Ever

Devin squeezed her hand, his voice full of love. "I'm proud of us too. We've come a long way from where we started."

Nicole had found her stride as a project manager, taking on bigger projects and making a name for herself in her field. One evening, after a particularly long day, Devin came home with good news. "I think I landed a new development deal today," he said, his eyes shining with excitement.

Nicole smiled as she set the table for dinner. "That's amazing, Dev! I'm so proud of you. You've been working so hard for this."

Devin walked over, wrapping his arms around her waist. "It's all coming together, Nic. And it feels good to be building something that'll last."

Nicole leaned into him, resting her head on his chest. "You deserve it. We've both worked so hard, and it's paying off."
