Chapter 70: The Excitement Builds

The next morning, Nicole woke up feelin' a sense of peace she hadn't felt in a while. The sun was barely peeking through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. She turned to look at Devin, still fast asleep, and smiled. The reality of last night's news was still sinkin' in—she was pregnant. They were about to do this all over again, and this time, she felt ready in a way she hadn't expected.

Amani was still sleepin', and the house was quiet. It was one of those rare moments where everything just felt still, like the world had paused just for them. Nicole lay there for a few more minutes, enjoyin' the calm before the day kicked in.

Telling Amani

A little later that morning, as they sat down for breakfast, Nicole and Devin exchanged glances, knowin' they had big news to share with Amani. She was sittin' at the table, munchin' on her cereal, completely unaware of the life-changin' moment about to happen.

"You ready to tell her?" Nicole whispered to Devin.

Devin nodded, grinnin'. "Yeah, let's do it."

Nicole smiled, takin' a deep breath. "You're gonna be a big sister, Amani."

Amani's face lit up with excitement, her cereal forgotten as she jumped up from the table. "Really?! I'm gonna have a baby brother or sister?!"

Devin laughed, pullin' her into his arms. "Yup, you are. You ready for that?"

Amani nodded enthusiastically, wrappin' her little arms around his neck. "I'm so ready, Daddy! I'm gonna be the best big sister ever!"

Devin walked in, raisin' an eyebrow when he saw what she was doin'. "You already lookin' at names?"

Nicole grinned, noddin'. "Yeah, I can't help it. We gotta start thinkin' about this stuff, right?"

Devin sat down next to her, peekin' at the screen. "Alright, let's see what you got."

They spent the next hour goin' back and forth, tossin' around ideas and laughin' about which names would fit their new baby. It was one of those moments that reminded Nicole just how strong their bond was—they were a team, workin' together to build a future for their family.

Celebratin' the News

Later that week, they decided it was time to share the news with their close friends and family. They hosted a small dinner at their house, invitin' the people who meant the most to them, and planned to surprise everyone with the big announcement.

As the night went on, Nicole and Devin kept exchangin' excited glances, waitin' for the right moment to drop the news. After dinner, while everyone was relaxin' in the livin' room, Devin cleared his throat, gettin' everyone's attention.

"Hey, y'all," he started, smilin'. "We got somethin' special to share with you."

Nicole smiled, steppin' up beside him. "We're havin' another baby."

Tasha, her best friend, was the first to rush over, pullin' Nicole into a hug. "Girl! I'm so happy for you! Another baby! Y'all really doin' it."
