For days, San tried to convince herself that She was moving on sending message to Taehyung about her 'new life' she spoke to Akash with carefully spoken words, explain how he was thoughtfully understanding and seems to genuinely want the best for her. she mentioned their conversation, how he listened to her talk about he dreams and always courteous and attentive. She told Taehyung that it's ok now. that she is adjusting to her life- one she hadn't quite choose but learning to accept.
But beneath every message, she and there was an unspoken plea. she wanted so badly for Tae to see through her words, to know her heart wasn't in them, that no matter how much she tried to convince herself, something deep inside her was restless and unhappy.no matter how much she tries to concentrate on Akash but she always ends up with teary eyes. She fought against the urge to confess to him, how desperately she wished things were different- that she needed him more than she wanted to admit. But her message remains the same cheerful and positive.
On the other side, Taehyung read each and every messages and though they initially seemed convincing, he knew her well enough to sense the hidden pain between lines. The more she spoke about Akash, the more Taehyung felt the strange uneasiness. He couldn't shake off the feeling that each if her message were just mask over her true emotions. But as the message grew warmer filled with small shared details about Akash, something inside him shifted, a creep feeling, he hadn't expected.
He found himself rereading her messages, catching himself wondering about Akash- wondering if he was as good as she claimed. if he could really make her feelings change, if he could really make her happy. Every stories san shared a small part of him for the pang of regret, an ache that hadn't been there before. little he know he started to feel something deeper for her.
And yet, he couldn't reach out to her. despite the uneasiness or the growing feeling inside him. he stayed silent, he know her life is complicated and he didn't wanted to add to her struggle. she was trying and he didn't wanted her to doubt her decision after all the hardest days.
One evening, San sat in the living room, gently stroking her dog's fur as her mind wandered. the house felt quiet as her mother and sister are out on shopping. She found herself lost in thoughts, a mix of her feeling for Taehyung and the unsettling uncertainty of her future.
Suddenly her phone buzzed- A message from Akash "hey, are you free." She hesitated but replied "yes I am free."
Almost immediately his response appeared "Great, well I was thinking to share the news firstly with you. It's our 'ROKA' our families are planning it soon."
Her heart Sank, as her emotions flooded in sadness, regret and anger - all of them blended in a deep ache within her. The reality of her family's expectations was pressing down and now it felt like the path ahead of her was dosing in too quickly.
She didn't expected things to move this fast, and uncertainly not when her heart as so far away from the person everyone expected her to accept.
Lost in her thoughts, she didn't realise Akash had sent another message "hey, Are you there?"
She snapped back and quickly typed "Yes, I'm here."
He seemed to notice her hesitance as he said "Is everything ok? You seemed distant again. I mean, do you need time or Is there anything else you want to share?"
San forced herself to reply back and said "No, everything is ok.. Am happy" he replied instantly and said " So am I."
San could feel the distance between her words and her heart. As she stared at the screen, a pang of longing hit her thinking of Taehyung - the one she truly wished to have future with.
After the short, hallow exchange with Akash, San sat on the couch, her head hanging low, tears in her eyes just on the edge to come out. Her dog rested her head on her laps like sensing her sorrow. She gently scratched her ear, and bites her lips. Her mind drifted back to Taehyung, to all those messages, she send him from months. Even if it was just a one side conversation. Those messages had become her soft space, her confession without judgement.
Almost on instant, she picked her phone up and went to her chat with Taehyung. Hovering over the empty textbox. She knew this wasn't meant and if it's happening. She had to make decision. Without her realizing it tears rolled down her eyes.
"Taehyung, I don't know how to say this but I felt trapped. My family's thinking about my 'Roka' and everyone is happy with this arrangement. I keep wishing for something or someone to change all of this. I now, I shouldn't keep bothering and send all my worries like this. Till when I'll find peace in you. I need to stop this, right? I really need. This will be my last message. From now on I will not message you. Am sorry. I love you, I really love you a lot. Hope you knew it."
Taehyung's pov
Sitting in his recording room after recording his part of song. he started to check his phone as always. he found a message, message from san.
He walked out of the room and went is went in his practice room. the room lighting was dim as his sat on the floor with his back resting by the wall as he started to read san's message.
Her words echoing in his mind like a 'Haunting melody' he read her message over and over. The finality of her words sinking deeper with the passing second ' last message.. I love you.. I really do... hope you knew it. '
It felt as if a part of him slipping away away. all those nights, he did spend quietly reading her message. feeling her emotions through her words had became something he look forward to- rare escape from the chaos of his life. her warmth and the way she poured out her heart into each message has slowly filled the space within him that he hadn't known was empty. and now with a few words she is saying goodbye.
He close his eyes as tears roll down from the corner of his eyes. the weight of unspoken feelings pressing heavily on his chest. he always kept his distance knowing the risk and impossibilities of their truly merging. but now the thought of never hearing her again tore at him in a way, he didn't expected. he didn't know he'd gotten this attached, how her presence had become such a quiet comfort for him.
After long moment of thinking he considered.......
