Every love story has a beginning. Ours just took a little longer to believe in."
San lay awake, her thoughts tangled in the weight of Taehyung's confession. No matter how much she tried to distract herself, his words echoed in her mind. "I like you, San." It was overwhelming, terrifying, and exhilarating all at once. She busied herself with work, but nothing could silence the storm inside her.
On the other hand, Taehyung found himself in a whirlwind of emotions-relieved that he had confessed, yet restless about what came next. He had done his part, laid his heart bare. Now, everything depended on her. But as much as he tried to wait patiently, his mind refused to stop spinning.
What if she says yes?
A small, dreamy smile tugged at his lips as his mind painted the picture.
San stands in front of him, eyes hesitant but shining, cheeks dusted with pink. Her lips part slightly before she whispers, "It was always a yes for you ."
Would he freeze? Would his heart stop altogether? He imagined himself blinking at her, processing her words, before his face would break into the widest grin. He would tease her, "Are you sure? I am not dreaming, right?" to see her smile, to watch that adorably shy smile appear. And then, before she could retreat, he would pull her into his arms. Just hold her, feeling her warmth seep into him, letting reality sink in.
His heart swelled at the thought of her buried against his chest, her fingers clutching at his shirt as she let herself relax in his embrace.
I'd hold her and tell her... you're my person now, and I'll show you that you belong right here, with me.
His fingers twitched slightly against the sheets as if reaching for the feeling that didn't yet exist. But then, his mind wandered further.
What if she lets me kiss her?
His breath hitched at the thought. San, looking up at him with wide, nervous eyes. Her lashes fluttered as he leaned in, pausing just inches away, giving her the choice. Would she close the distance first? Or would she be too nervous, leaving him to brush his lips against hers, gentle and unsure?
The idea sent warmth spiraling through his chest. He sighed, rolling onto his back. This was dangerous. She hasn't even said yes yet, and here I am daydreaming like a lovestruck fool.
But then came the fear. What if she says no?His chest tightened at the thought of San looking away, her voice barely above a whisper. "I can't, Tae...We are not a match ... my parents... they'll never accept this." He knew how much their approval meant to her. She was too selfless, too willing to sacrifice her happiness to avoid hurting them. If they disapproved, would she walk away from him? The mere idea left him breathless.
He sighed, lying back against the pillows, eyes drifting to the ceiling. No matter how many scenarios played in his mind, the truth was simple-San held his heart now. And whether she chose to keep it or let it go was no longer in his control.
All he could do was hope.

Morning came, but Taehyung's thoughts hadn't settled. His mind kept circling back to the same question-what if she says no? He tried to go about his routine, but every little thing reminded him of San. Her hesitant smile, the way her eyes held unspoken emotions, the way she had looked at him before he left. He was growing restless. He needed an answer.
San, on the other hand, had barely gotten any sleep. She had stayed up late working, hoping it would exhaust her enough to shut down her thoughts, but nothing worked. When she finally fell asleep, it was restless and short. She woke up late, groggy and still tangled in the same fears. What am I going to say to him?
