Taehyung POV

Days have been passing like this, San spend whole day with Pihu and kids, and honestly? I'm not complaining.

Pihu being here has been a blessing I didn't know I needed. San spends the whole day with her - gossiping, laughing, arguing over the silliest things, taking turns with the kids. By the time I come home, San is knocked out cold. Usually I find her half-sitting, half-melting into whatever surface was closest when sleep claimed her. Yesterday it was the couch armrest. The day before, she was asleep sitting upright with Taesan still in her arms.

I straightened her on couch carefully trying, not to disturb her and let her sleep. She deserves it after handling these two goofballs.

The kids though, these two, they are something else entirely now. They've started making sounds. Real sounds. They will stare at you with this intense, focused expression like they are analyzing your entirely. And the smiling - God, the smiling. Peek-a-boo has become the greatest game in human history according to Suho. Every single time I uncover my face he loses his mind. Pure joy. Unfiltered. That giggle has become my favorite music.

But Taesan. My daughter.

She is different.

I don't know how a person who has existed for only a few months has already developed such a distinct personality, but she has. She has Attitude with Capital A. When she decides she wants something, the entire universe is expected to rearrange itself immediately. No delays. No substitutes accepted.

And what she wants, specifically, is me, Her Appa.

The moment I walk into the room, it doesn't matter whose arms she is in. She spots me and her whole body starts leaning. Straining. If she could talk she would be saying "put me down you stupid person, appa take me in your arms."

She does this thing where she moves her head slowly up and down when I talk to her like she is nodding, like she is saying "yes yes I hear you appa, I understand, continue." It's the funniest thing I have ever seen. She looks like a tiny CEO in a meeting. It gives pure joy to my heart as nothing is more precious to me in life. I feel  to squish her bread cheeks so tight  but only I know make myself not do that.

I set my bag down as I just come back and smiling to myself.

And then, for no reason at all, a memory surfaces.

I had come back from a party - one of those events where attendance is mandatory and fun is optional. It was late. I tiptoed into the apartment because I was certain San would be asleep. She was in her second trimester at this point, carrying twins, nausea and the exhaustion had been hitting her hard. I sometimes feel bad like she is carrying two babies and she is suffering and here didn't make on time for them.

I thought, I would make it to bed undetected without making any sound because if my wifey will be up,........ then I am gone for sure.I was wrong.

I walked into the kitchen to have some water and there she was.

Sitting at the counter. At one forty-seven in the morning. Hair in a messy bun. Wearing my hoodie that went down to her knees. And eating grapes.

Let me be specific. She had a bowl of grapes on one side, a plate of orange slices on the other, and she was alternating between them.

I should mention ,San and fruit. This woman loves fruit the way some people love oxygen. Not in smoothies, not in salads, not mixed with anything. Raw. Citric fruits, watery fruits — mangoes, watermelon, oranges, grapes, lychee, guava, I think the only fruits she doesn't love are the ones she hasn't tried yet.Fruit monster.
