S1 E8: Once Bitten, Twice Shy

The four all came and sat together around the table in the bridge along while Nya stood by whatever was so important.

[Y/n] finally walked in only to stop in his tracks and stare bemused by Jay's prettied up new look, hair and all.

"Oh, h-hey [Y/n], I was just about to start." Nya greeted the man in charge with a rosy colour to her cheeks earning an irked look from the blue ninja.

"Uh.. yeah, don't let me interrupt." [Y/n] waved off still throwing glances at Jay almost pompadour hair style.

"Some villagers unearthed the remains of this Fangpyre a dew miles away, it predates the golden age and must be hundred of years old. Although the venom in the fangs of the Fangpyre genetically mutate human cells into reptilian I've learned there could be a way to stop the effects without having to create an anti-venom, if one is able to wildly raise their heart rate hypothetically it could reverse the venom's effects." She explained unaware of her poor audience. Meanwhile [Y/n] stared disappointed at the group, Kai was simply bored out of his mind staring into space, Cole was shamelessly drawing doodles in his notebook and Jay was in his in a loving daze at the sight of Nya.

Zane along with the falcon sat beside him were the only ones paying attention, diligently noting important points.

"Resulting in.. diminished..... uh, excuse me is someone wearing perfume? I'm severely allergic to perfume." Nya cut herself off as her cheeks began to break out in red while Jay laughed awkwardly.

"You said it was men's cologne!" Jay whispered yelled at Kai who shrugged.

"Meh, I get them mixed up." He joked earning a laugh from Cole and Zane, who apparently had his humor switch active, he high fived Kai and quickly disabled it via a small flip up console on his wrist.

'I suppose that's just normal now.' [Y/n] stared.

"Welp looks like class is over, time to start stomping some Serpentine before they find any fang blades." Cole declared closing his book and getting up followed by the other three.

"Sounds like a plan." Kai smirked followed by a smiling Zane sensibly holding his booklet.

"I'm excited to join." He agreed.

[Y/n] sighed and walked over to the bridge's monitor keeping an eye out for updates.

Jay stopped in his tracks as he looked at Nya's flush features, guilt panting through him.

"Uh.. hey uh, Nya. I'm sorry.. the reason I was- y'know- I went to Kai because..." Jay finally took a moment to breathe and get his story straight.

"Look, what I'm trying to say is-"

"I know it's just a cruel joke. I should be fine, please, go fight snakes." Nya waved off whatever he was trying to say but Jay quickly jumped in again.

"Nonono! I-I was trying to impress you, look, before Sensei left he said our heart was the key to unlocking our true potential." Jay explained only for [Y/n] to raise an eyebrow.

"Impress me? But I look so-"

"Fantastic." Jay filled in the rest.

"Look maybe if you let me I can take you to some big fancy restaurant." Jay's smile faltered in panic. "Y'know.. you don't have to, i-if you don't want to."

"You mean.. like a date?" Nya answered coyly hiding herself slightly behind her papers.

"Umm... yeah..?" Jay smiled awkwardly with hope.

"Yeah sure! I'd love to but I have to go now before the perfume toxins enter my bloodstream and I go into shock. See you tonight!" She smiled and waved as she left.
