"Gooo!!" Wu called out in desperation one final time as the Devourer's haunting white pupils glared down on him and Pythor while the purple snake in question whimpered in fear.
"Nya, get Lloyd back to the ship." [Y/n] instructed and Nya wasted no time following orders, scooping Lloyd up in her mechanical arms before launching off.
The Devourer's eyes narrowed and with a final ground shaking hiss the great serpent swooped down consuming Pythor and Wu along with the very ground they stood on with a heartbreaking crunch, crumbs of rock and dust spilling from it's mouth as it swallowed.
"Sensei.." [Y/n] looked away.
"No..." Jay whimpered.
However the group had little time to grieve as the Devourer threw it's head back letting out another deafening roar before it turned it's attention to the five.
"Maybe if we stand.... perfectly still..?" Jay spoke with no conviction in his word as he remained frozen with fear.
"Run!!" Kai shouted out as his fight or flight kicked in and with adrenaline flowing through them the group turned and ran.
[Y/n] followed suit however quickly found himself frozen again.
But this time, he had a reason.
"S̴̲̫̗̱̝̔͑t̷͓̙̝̰̭̊͌͋͒͜ǫ̷̞̫̩͙̦̅̓̑̄p̷̱͔̉̃̊͆̕..."
He didn't know what it was that had him turning around, if it was some unknown force or morbid curiosity that was overwriting his own survival instincts but either way he did so, turning to face the fabled Great Devourer. [Y/n] couldn't speak, he couldn't breathe, especially not as he felt the huge breath of the Devourer hitting him like wind as the titanic serpent leaned down and crept closer and closer, the vast fangs now so close he could see their venomous coating dripping down them like water down stalagtites.
With a vicious hiss and exhale of airso hard it had [Y/n] tumbling to the dirt, that same green goo flew out the beasts mouth and hitting the ninja in magenta.
"Aggh nrrgh!!" [Y/n]'s body clenched and tensed as the light burning sensation consumed his body. His limbs gently spasming as his pain receptors all over his skin worked over time.
"Y̶̥̰̅̌̑ȯ̶̳̈́̿̅̅̐̇ų̶̗͇͔̓͜.̵̟̮͍̣̿̀̿.̴̗̘̒̎͂̽̏̉͜ͅ.̵͍̓́̾̈̐͝ h̵͖̏ě̶̹ą̴͆ȑ̸̭ ̴̛̘m̵e̷ now..?"
Now his body stopped, the sudden revelation making him ignore the stinging pain.
The Great Devourer was in his head?
"Do you.. hear me.. clearly?"
It repeated. The behemoth monster of scales and teeth leaned down to his level, just it's front front fangs were roughly double his size.
"I hear you." [Y/n] gave it his best, it was impressive he could find the courage to form a sentence let alone not pass out on the spot as it's slitted eye's lingered square on him but something in him felt he was safe, after all if this thing was going to eat him, it could do so at any passing second.
"[Y/n]!?!!" Kai practically screamed out, as he watched the male who remained unmoving infront the snake of snakes which inched closer and closer.
"Too long.. your injury made it easier..."
That only confirmed it but at the same time it only left him with more questions.
