It was a mid day of the heavy monsoon. The rain outpoured on the Divya bhoomi of Dwaraka, the waves from the surrounding sea lashing into the golden stretch of sand.

"It must feel so nice to go into the rain.." Bhaishmaki contemplated, feeling the droplets on her arms through the open window. She chuckled softly, as her mind wandered to that delightful rainy day in Vidarbha, when a younger version of herself had ran into the rain, profound with happiness and joy.

--
It was a chaotically quite morning in Vidarbha.
After the customary Pooja of the Kuldevi, Rukmini had just opened her eyes. She was taken aback by the outpour she had failed to notice in her deep prayer. Placing a last little blossom at the Goddess's feet, she gathered her dark blue lehenga and stood up from the hard floor of the temple.

Her features were only at the threshold of maturing into a more feminine elegance, yet her beauty stood out like the soft rain in a sunkissed woodland, peaceful and harmonious.

She moved to Mayurika and Ratnavati who were standing on the edge of the Temple onlooking the rain. They slightly bowed as Rukmini Approached.
Ratnavati informed politely "The rath would be here soon. We can go back in that"

Nodding to her, Rukmini leaned forward, taking a glimpse of the heavy dark rain clouds above.

'Ghanashyama' Her heart whispered as a smile crept on to her beautiful face. If The color is so Majestic and intense at the vast canvas of sky, how enchantingly splendid would the young prince of Dwaraka must look. She smiled looking at Mayurika who was observing her.

Her eyes darted towards the basket of flowers she had kept on the ground. Picking it up graciously, she ran her hands above the delicate petals, the yellow ones particularly pulling her attention.

'Pitambara' Her heart whispered again, as she stared at the vibrant color. If the color could look so ethereal on the tiny petal, how luminescent would it look impeccably clad on the playful darling of Vrindavan.

The lot of paintings in her chamber, were beaming at her innocent love, her bhakti.

The shrill voice of a bird pierced through the sound of droplets, reaching them.
"What is that?!" Rukmini intrigued, turned around to see what it was.

"Look, a peacock!" Ratnavati exclaimed with delight as the maidens rushed forward, yearning to behold the dancing Mayura.

"Such a wonder!!" Mayurika couldn't hide her excitement.

Rukmini's heart overflowed with joy as she watched the majestic being. The presence of the dancing bird evoked in her the feeling that her lord has granted her Darshan.

And before she knew, she was twirling around beside the Peacock, embraced by the chilly droplets of the rain. She had her eyes closed in utter bliss, opening her arms wide as she felt the rhythmic rainbeats on her skin.

"Rajkumari..!! Please come back" the calls of her Sakhis failed to reach her in that moment of euphoria.

She opened her eyes to find a lone peacock feather, nestled in the moist little grass, shimmering with raindrops.

Picking it up gently, she couldn't help but admire the beauty of the feather.

'Morpankhdhari' she smiled, keeping it closer to her heart, infinitely And unconditionally sure it would look unimaginably more enchanting adorned on her beloved's crown.
--

Rambha, her chief maid, who was busy in tidying up the queenly chamber, gasped rushing to her.

"Swamini, Please move away from the window! You will catch a cold!"
